I've been stationed in Wa. for 3 years and have fished for all kinds of different species and still have not caught one largemouth! If any one knows some good lakes or ponds and what to use, let's talk about it because bass here are different than the rest of the country and don't fall for many tricks. |

Come over to the East side. Every year the State kills off a few trout lakes here and there cause those pesky largemouth made it back into the water. lol . Wish I could help there Repo but I don't know much about bass on the West side. I know they do some tournaments on Washington and Sammamish. You could also try your local sporting goods stores or boat shops. Sometimes there are a few old timers standing around with some good info. If you ever decide to come over the mountain, send me a message. I'm always willing to do some fishing |

I just saw that American is one of the Cabelas win a milllion bucks lakes, along with Washington. We have Potholes, Sprague and Couer d'Alene for us eastsiders. If you haven't seen the ad go to Cabelas.com and check it out. If you catch a tagged fish you could win fishing gear from Cabela's. wow that kind of sounded like an ad... They tagged largemouth, smallmouth, stripers, walleye, cutthroat, rainbows and browns. I could always use some free fishing gear |

One of the best lakes in your area for largemouth is Black Lake, Just west of Olympia. Try using chartruse/white spinnerbaits and crankbaits. Not only does Black Lk have huge LM it also has some really nice smallmouth in it. |

Well I can't verify it but I've been told by several that Long Lake in Kitsap Co. is good for Largemouth. A friend of mine has pretty good success there but the previous poster- basbandit, told me he hasn't had very good luck there. I still go there often since it's only a few miles from home though. If you're interested, I'll show you where it is and we can give it a shot. I don't have the right boat for it really but I can get us on the water. Let me know if you'd like to try. |

I bet they tagged some of the trout they just stocked American Lake with just last month. Oh could you tell me how to put a banner on the bottom of my posts? Also has anyone got any tagged fish out of Potholes? |

So I went to Black Lake today and it seems to be almost completely private. You have to pay for a camp site if you want to get water access. LAME |

RR&R, try this link for info on Long Lake in Kitsap Co. It's from Washingtonlakes.com. http://www.washingtonlakes.com/Lake...id=223&t=1 As for water temp, I'd guess it's upper 50's but haven't put a thermometer in it. LOTS of weeds through out the lake! I was trolling (since I had to get to the other end of the lake anyway) and every few minutes you're getting hung up. The weeds are just below the surface nearly everywhere. Water color is heavy stained. Hope this is a help to you. Basbandit suggested I try Black Lake- which one did you fish? |

Ah cool a subject I actually have feedback for. First off RR&R good day neighbor. I live over in Parkland and I can honestly say I fish alot around here. All over the place. Just today I caught my biggest rainbow yet at American Lake along with 9 other various size rock bass, perch and 1 pesky damn bullhead who should have won an award for trying to eat a nightcrawler bigger than him. As for your question on largemouths well here ya go. Lake Tapps, American Lake, Lake Washington, Lake Sammamish, and Alder Lake are all lakes with good size large and smallmouth bass. The tournament lakes over here are Lake Sammamish and Lake Washington. The most active bass club around here is Hawg Hunters out of Puyallup. Id contact them or browse their site for more info. http://puyallup-hawg-hunters.com/ Ive personally witnessed a 4lb largemouth come out of Alder Lake tho. The guy almost jumped out his skin he was so happy. Lemme know if ya need any other info. As I said I fish around here ALOT! |

RR&R there is a public launch on the south end of Black lake. Turn left at on the road at the north end of the lake, fallow that road up past the fire station and continue on that road until you come to the stop sign. Turn right and the launch will be be on the right about a 1/4 mile from the stop sign. Good luck Harry |

Thanks for the info guys, I really do appreciate it. Let me ask this question, What does everyone around here use on really clear, semi-overcast days, shallow, heavy weeds? I have been working this little lake on post ''Sesqualichu Lake", its really fishy but I have had no luck. Shore casting {1}**** or miss though, but the places I find should hold largies. I just dont get it... |

Dude that lake is beyond fished out. Some guys and I were just talking about that lake on Sunday. Also on Sunday I watched a guy who specializes in only catching largemouth bass on American Lake pull out a couple good size ones. He uses a lil blow up raft and uses BooYa lures. I pulled out over 20 rock bass and 1 perch while waiting for my trout pole to get a bite. Only one rock bass was large enough to keep and my buddy took it. As far as what I use on cloudy overcast days around here I use a slip float method for all my fishing as well as an egg slip weight for trout. Here check this site out for a little bit of info on Sequalitchew Lake. Its a pretty fished out lake but yes you are right about it being perfect conditions for largemouth. http://www.shawsweb.com/sequalitchewlake.html Honestly I have heard Black Lake holds some good size largies too and I know that lake isnt fished out.. |
