If so, there has to be at least one good place to fish in the area without driving to Sleepy Creek or going to Grant county. If so where on Gods green earth is it?

I'm from Charleston, so I can't help much.  I had to go to Romney once for a business trip, I thought trout fishing was pretty popular up there?

Not sure if you're still around (original poster) but I'm here in Keyser, 30 mins away. There's Dam 14 but as you said, it's in Grant County. Fort Ashby Dam may be closer? um.. have you tried the trough? I used to work on the Potomac eagle and there was no shortage of fisherman at any time there. Sorry I couldn't be of more help, there's just not many more places to go that are local
