Got out on Gilbert Lake just off Big Cedar Lake on Friday. The wind was so bad i could cast a country mile with it. i got back in the reeds and man it was on. I boat 5 fish biggest was close to 6lbs and released them all. One had bite marks on it, it was a 2lb so whatever chewed on it had to be big,LOL. I used La. craw colored ribbet frog and had a ball, i bet i had over 30 bites, they either missed the frog outright or i set the hook to soon, but it was fun wind and all.

You are right Dave, fishing doesn't start till May 2nd. And north of hwy 10 it's only catch and release till June. Of course if you are crappie fishing and a smallie jumps on.........

I went crappie fishing on Friday and caught 4 smallies, one was obviously spawning..... I couldn't buy a crappie.

Opening weekend was a blast. 4 guys fishing the Little Wolf. We brought in & released 50+ decent bass, a few walleye, a sucker, a cat, & a large sheepshead. Green tube baits, & yellow/orange Mr. Twisters
