I heard a rumor that the dnr is shocking lakes around the state and taking the large sport fish to fill the goveners lake ( Lake Delton ). Talking with a guy that I know he was out on Rock Lake ( Lake mills, Wi. ) fishing and the dnr was shocking the lake. When he asked what they were doing the reply was we are taking the sport fish to help restock Lake Delton up by the dells. Now how many other lakes around the state are going to have their fish stolen to restock that one with bigger fish. It was on the news that the lake is being restocked.  I know that it will take a few years for that fishery to come back after being completely drained but what about the people of these other areas that fish these lakes that they are taking fish out of ?  Is it because of the tourist dollars spent at the dells or because rumor has it that Govener Doyle owns property on Lake delton ? Now I was in the dells area this weekend fishing and Lake Delton is not the only place to fish in that area. Does anybody else believe that this is just plain wrong ?

I asked one of my friends who lives in that area about your concern. This was his reply.

Terry:  All that has been said and in the papers is that the lake is being restocked with fingerlings and it will take a few years to get it back to what it was before for fishing.  Have not heard anything on restocking with larger fish or anything along those.  With regard to Governor Doyle owning property on Lake Delton, have NO knowledge if this is correct.  I do know that Chuck Thompson, the former DOT sec. has about 10 properities in the area, also Tom Diehl, who owns Tommy Bartletts' is the main reason for the lake being refilled so quickly as he has the ear of Doyle.   ----
