Well, with the way the ol "honey hole" was looking, we decided to pick a new "honey hole". Boy I am sure glad we did. I had a blast yesterday. This was my first trip to this lake that Bob keeps telling me about. I ended up boating the first fish which were some really huge rock bass - my biggest yet to date.
The first big one

This one was a beast

I missed a really BIG smallie but then Bob started to boat some smallies

scottph - this pic is for you

Then this largie hit me on skirted jig dressed with a Kalin summer craw grub (my "hot" grub)

Mo - this one was staged for you

That look from Bob is - Come on Cheri - do you really need to take a pic of every fish? (The answer is YES!)

This northern look like he met a MUCH bigger northern

By the end of the night, I still had yet to boat a smallie to make the trifecta - I was told that I was using the wrong type of grub setup. So as we motored over to the last spot of the evening, a white (with black and silver flake) grub was hooked up with a plain jig and BAM!!!!! This little baby slammed me like a freight train. She was on the small side but she fought and acted like she weighed 10 pounds.

Bob, thanks again for a great evening and the tips on working this lake. It was great to be on the water enjoying the day, jokes, and fun like old times.
There is nothing like sharing the boat with a good friend - the fish are just an extra bonus.
