Just wanted to let you guys know we are making progress on the text size on the website. The main text on features, product reviews, articles (etc.) is now larger and darker.  We've still got work to do with the text size, but I wanted to give you all a heads up on this first fix.

Thanks for the heads up.  I have been using the box in the lower right side of the screen in Internet Explorer to enlarge the type.  Now maybe I won't have to, but probably will have to because my eyes aren't what they used to be.

We do have someone working on getting the "jump to last post" icon to work properly, so for those who have been following a thread, you can jump right to the most recent post.

Wow again!!! A response from the managment, a new trend?

It`s nice to hear someone is finally working on this. Let me try another problem.

Whenever you reply to any thread on this site, the site has to reload the whole thread. This ain`t a big deal on short threads but on the long threads this is a killer, especially for those on dial up. If you scroll down under your reply box you will see the whole thread from the first post to the last. On the long threads that means we have to reload every avatar, siggy, picture, and any other little goofies that may be in it. Some threads here have got to the point that they are hard-- impossible to post in. If it was to just reload the last 5-10 post instead of the whole thread that would be GREAT. If thats not an option, reloading nothing would be better than reloading the whole thread. This is a big problem on this site.

You can delete the two threads stickied to the top of the misc. section.

Got it. For what it's worth we are chipping away at a long list of things. The small fixes will start adding up. There is a stong focus on forum issues.

Looks like the new colors rolled out. Forum is not a blue background with grey text anymore. Black text, white background. Easier to read.

I'm not really the voice of mangement, but when the text size bumped up I got very excited. I put my sandwich board on and start walking around town announcing it, even if no one else cares.

LOL. It`s not that no one cares, just that there are more important things on a BB than what color the background is. You know, like the ability to post.

It`s very good to see someone from within the club here talking to us and addressing some of our concerns. Many times it seems like we are talking to a wall when we use the forum feedback section or E-mail member services. I hope your presents here continues. I think that would ease some of the bad feelings many have towards the NAFC right now. Tony?

I'm definitely not Tony.  I work with the editors, but I'm not one of them.

Think of me as a virtual librarian for all the clubs. I'm the one that knows whether or not we still have that dusty old book about largemouth bass lying around. Is that what you all came to this library for? Probably not.

Something like the text getting bigger or the colors changing is the equivalent of us scraping the algae off the side of the aquarium over in the children's section. Does it make a huge impact? No. Does it make things a little bit better? Sure. You might actually be able to see the goldfish swimming around in there now.  There's a lot to fix and improve around here. Sometimes the only thing we can do is brew another pot of coffee while you guys sit and wait.

By who's standards of 100% ICB

Now that THAT is taken care of

I too am pleased that we are having someone on the CLUB end at least responding to our frustrations. The BB is seemingly working better as each week passes...and it ultimately makes it easier for us Life Members to recommend and INVITE others to make a commitment.

Having worked in software QA over the last 10 years tells me that DEFECTS are ALWAYS an issue when it comes to a business's bottom line....but at the same time though...resolution CAN mean survival / prosperity on the 'Net.

MY recommendation would be to dump the MISC Archive....as I doubt that the majority of the current users look at it...and for that matter....since there's very little in there about fishing....you guys could make some serious server space by doing so.

Just my 2 cents worth....and thanks AGAIN for you posts

ICB....considering the millions of folks that have lost their jobs over the last 18 months....bonuses / raises should be the LAST thing in ANYONE'S vocabulary at this point

Well Dave for the 100% I will take the NAFCs` 100% for now.  If I don`t like it I can always complain some more.  I have got really good at doing that. LOL.

I agree if they need space they could get rid of the archive section. There is nothing in there anyway. Most of the threads in it have the first post only, none of the responses made in them seem to have made the trip. Even if there was useful info in any of them at one time it is long gone. I will add, with a little help from some of the members alot of threads could be deleted if space is an issue. Is Space a problem -E?

And Dave, If people were paid for what they do and not for what they pretend to do this country would be alot better off. Just like this BB for the last year and a half, someone has been being paid for this. If they worked for me, they would be in the unemployment line. And when you find someone that makes a possitive difference, you hang on to him. -E is making a possitive difference just by talking to us about the things we wish to talk about. With all the complaining I have done about this site over the last year+ I will most definetly Thank the person from the NAFC that comes on here and make a possitive difference.

Deleting the Miscellanous Archive probably won't do much of anything, but if it's something you guys don't use and it's an annoyance, we can get rid of it like we did the sticky threads.

The same text size change we made on the article pages just rolled out to the forums.  Default text is larger.  It may feel like getting a new pair of glasses these first few days and your eyes adjust to the new size.

Well, I have certainly done my share of complaining over the last couple of years.  I agree, it is great that someone has been given the responsibility to address the issues surrounding this website & bulletin board.  Many thanks for that!

But I must say that the biggest issue that a lot of members are having is the "timing out" while trying to bring up a thread.  Perhaps that is just the way it is going to be considering the software that this site uses...But I think there is a valid point to be made here, and that is many, many members use dial-up to access this site.  It is my hope that this site will be improved in a way that will allow easier access and greater enjoyment to an already great membership.  My two cents!

Don`t know what break lines are but they seem to have made a difference on this end. Running much faster for me know.

Is it possible to get the name of the last person to post in a thread put back up on the index board in the different sections?

The mics archives make no difference to me. Was just a thought of freeing up some space if it was needed.

Thanks for all you seem to be doing and for taking the time to talk with us a little. It`s appreciated!!!!

The biggest issues we've got with the forums are the ones that you guys inherently already know. Long threads taking forever to post on. When you do post, what you see immediately below the post field is the very first post and not the last, etc. Let's put it this way, they are not easy fixes. These are the sit and wait ones. I know that's frustrating to hear, but that's the truth of the matter.

fishnhunt guesses correctly that I am a woman. But hey, Tony was on the cover of the Dec 08 /Jan 09 issue so don't count him out.

When we want to make a post on a thread with lets say 6 pages we just don't see the first page as you pointed out we see all 6 pages 230 + posts beneath the posting area, and have to wait until all 6 pages, wording, pictures etc are fully loaded before it will let us type a reply.

Guys -- I changed the title of this topic and made it a sticky for the time being.

We just shut off the "Anonymous" post option.  Not sure if that was an unpopular feature here, but your buddies over at the Hunting club hated it.

Hello Good Morning E.-- Again Thanks! I think I can speak for most of the members in saying we definitely appreciate all the efforts to improve the forums and the club in general. I am one of the strong opponents of "Anonymous' posts at NAHC and most of us here feel the same! If a person doesn't have the courage to post under their name and signature ---they should not be posting.. The biggest consenses of most members is that there was not a two way communication and that we are being ignored. It is understandible that the editors and management have busy schedules as well as yourself; however, a simple response only takes an instant!! You, Tony,Kurt and others that have jumped in have shown that club admin is interested and making an attempt to improve all areas of concern. We all known that everything is not going to be an overnight fix and I'm sure that that there will be petty gripes in future. As they say; "You can't please everyone"; but, it's the majority that counts. This is a great club with a great membership and with effort we can make it greater. BTW--We won't give up on Tony neither Way To Go cuz he has also made a definite difference! With that I'll will sit back-- have a cup of that coffee and watch all the improvements take place!! Take Care, Good Fishing and may God Bless.

On the old site I used to get an e-mail notice that I had a pm from someone on the BB, and once on the BB there was a message that said that you had a new message. Could we get back to that, cuz I think people forget to click on the control panel, or don't even know that's where they are.

I agree. I also post on the bass resources web site and I use this feature frequently to communicate personally with several friends I've made on that site as well as the Arizona bass zone web site. It would also be nice to have our city and state posted under our user name , as it is on those sites as well. Thanks.     Happy fishing.

davesett2000 -- Looking at your screenshot, most likely someone on this side of things was tweaking something on the site at the same time you were trying to post.

The downside of us working on the website bugs is we're susceptible to more hiccups throughout the day.

    Hey E,

I was thinking of a couple different things. In the misc section would it be possible to put a games sub-section in? I don`t mind them were they are but some folks are drove crazy by them. LOL. I was aso thinking that it might be helpful if in each state section they had a sub for meets. That may help them in keeping everything organized without getting bumped down by someone elses.

Some of you guys should sound in on this one and any others you would like to see if possible. I know they are little things but they add up and make things better!!!

Hey HillBilly--- ICB does like da games--If'n ya note--He started them>And then he deserted us. HeeHeeHee Teethy                                                            Hey Lazarus-- It don't matter in yor case cuz ya can't see past yor Knothole anyhow!! Teethy

ICB----Couldn't agree with those ideas more! I think that would definitely help. the games and such are disliked by many. on the otherhand a lot of us like them. They create a fun atmosphere and The Lord knows we can use some lightheartedness around here! Also; it would benifit to have a subsection (with planned events) in the state threads. What do you thik Tony, E.,or anybody that has a say on the boards. Take care, good fishin and God Bless.

I a, am not sure I follow the reasoning behind the sub section for member meets in the state forums (not that I have anything againt them...).  Wasn't the logic behind having a "member meets" forum so that all the info about member meets could be found in one central place?  Is the issue the amount of time it takes to load a thread?  That I can surely understand, and it comes back to how the software works...Can you clue me in?

Pete they are talking about the way HBA has his site set up. When you open up a section like Pa you would also have more section to open. I belong to that site they are talking about for some time now and still get lost finding my way back to a post. I have yet to find the games on either site but have not looked to hard. I think there are many other things to fix on this site. I am (at this time) not in favor of sub-sections but that's JMHO. What ever the group wants is fine...............

It was just a thought Pete. In the PA section you would have a section for your meets. Thought it might be nice if you had a spot where you could get different threads for foods, directions, sign-ups.......all together without getting lost in the shuffle of the meets section. As for the games here, some folks raise cain about the word games. Don`t know why, they have always been part of the misc section but if willmake some happy, so be it.

Ok I see what you mean , I could see a use for it in the miss. section for sure. You click on there and realy have to hunt to find some thing. That the only one that gets so busy with just "stuff" that things get lost.............LOL.............thanks for the heads up on the games on HBA site ICE...........

Well, it's different.  It makes me a little nervous having the meet info in two different places...We're not talking about eliminating the "member meets" forum, right?  Because I still think it is best to have a central place where meet info can be found.  But I guess I don't really see a problem having the states with the orgainzing info posted in the states...Not sure I am saying that correctly!  It would certainly keep the clutter away from the main meet post.  It would just be different, requiring some adjustment time.  I would like to hear from other meet organizers on this issue...

What I'd really like to see  , is a Who's Online type deal. maybe a lil Online icon by the members name or something like that.  as for the sub cats deal , it would make some of the sections nice , but like pete is sayin' for the folks who don't move to well on the message forums , it would be quite confusing. maybe well enough is good enough?

No, not get rid of the meet section Pete. I read some of the meet threads and everything is stuck in one thread. Some of them threads are long and hard to find info for newer folks. If the thread was split for different info like where, what to bring, sign-up..........half of it would get burried in that thread but if it had it`s own spot in each states section you could do that and keep track of everything easier. Especially some of them bigger meets.

I`d like to see who`s on line also.

I agree would like to see who's on line.

I would also like to see where they live (town, state)

ICB I see what you are saying but I try with the Finger Lakes meet to keep that info on the curret page and also have a mass e-mail list to keep folks updated. I see the Ohio folks have mul-ti pages and that could be a help for them. Then again a sticky could also help, and that would get out of hand scrack that idea.............LOL

I'm reading lots of interesting suggestions here guys.  Let me split it up into things we can do immediately and things we need to develop.

Things we can do immediately – we can create some new forum topics. Instead of having a sub-category in Miscellaneous for games, we could easily just create a games forum. If there are topics you think there's a need/want for let me know. Hunting wanted a “Veterans” forum awhile back.

    Things we need to develop

Member Meets – it sounds to me like it would be helpful to have better tools to organize these on the site. Maybe we move towards more of a meetup.com type of area on the site?

Public member info (what state are you in, personal photo gallery, whose online, etc.) – this is all stuff we are working towards. It's helpful to hear what sorts of things you'd want, so feel free to keep listing them.

I think its great that you are taking time and making an effort to address these issues. I would like to alert you the fact that there is some sort of hacker or malware in here somewhere, same on the NAHC forum too. One named virus doctor will just take over the screen and say you have a bunch of viruses and want to clean em up for you the only way I can close that is to "restart" and the other comes usually after a post, a blank adobe reader lookin page takes over. Sometimes you can just close it, it says something like internet explorer = old. This is not your ordinary pop-ups which I have blocked on my end but  yours are the only sites where this happens to me

Lets back up a few minutes here !!!

Whats all this BS about changing the meets topic ???   what we have is just fine ... why complicate things by confusing people WITH ANOTHER PAGE TO LOAD..

FOR THE PAST EIGHT YEARS THE ONLY HELP WE ( the members who set up, host and pay for the member meets )  ASKED THE CLUB FOR (via E-mails and phone calls  every year) WAS TO PUT THE CONTACT INFO FOR THE VERIOUS MEETS (DATES, TIMES. AND PLACE)  IN THE MAGAZINE TO LET MEMBERS WHO DON'T HAVE ACCESS TO A COMPUTER / INTERNET .... THE OPPERTUNITY TO CONTACT US ,,, TO DATE NOTHING HAS EVER BEEN PLACES IN THE MAG all we asked for was. a simple one line sentence with info on each meet...nothing more >>>>>so ( E.) unless the club plans on attending one of the meets and or paying for them..  LOL  Please leave it alone !

( E.)  How about giving us an update on this post by the home office  ?? I got a personel E-mail from the editors of the club asking for my imput on this topic, of which I monitored and asked for comments and ideas from other members for months for the club??? only to have it pushed back to the second page in misc.  I for one think this should be a top priority of this club getting kids involved in fishing and the outdoors  instead of adding a Gameing thread that will teach them nothing

Well first off I am glad none of yall is gettin that stuff thats coming in on me. E., I am running IE 7.0 out of Windows XP and I am on dsl with Embarq with their security software plus windows firewall and security. Virus scan (several runs) picks up nothing. The virus.doc one hasnt come on today but this morning the blank adobe page did when I clicked "post" after typing a reply in "miscellaneous". I have been on the net a lot lately and the only place it happens is here and NAHC. That virus doc stuff looks like a windows or IE page but the bar on top says windows IE has blocked this site from accessing your p/c

Well you can reel your suggestions right back in.  I agree with Rod Tender!~ He and I were just TWO of the members who "Cornered" Kurt one day in your old chat room and convinced him that a Members Meet Forum would be of benefit to all those members holding meets around the US.  Leave the Members Meet Forum where it is and DO NOT Move it anywhere or try to "improve it"!!  It is fine like it is and where it is.

It would be nice if you worked on getting the chat room back on line., as this was a popular area for members, some of which are coming back because of the improvements made and the fact that someone from the club is finally listening to the members concerns.

It would still be even nices, If the chat room is ever returned, that a date and time (evening) be established for a member of the club to be in the chat room and REALLY listen AND hear the members.  This is just a thought also.

One of the things that was slowing the forum down was updating everyone's post count in real time.  We tested putting a delay on it (update it every 15 minutes or so) and the speed increase was pretty dramatic.  We traded off the real-time post count for the speed increase. Your post counts are updating, just not immediately after you post.

Easy Doc ,  E is/was looking for suggestions to make it better and they were coming from members just like you and RT. I agree that these threads are hard for a new person to find out what's going on when they get 3-4- or 12 pages long. What would you suggest , like I said above I try to keep the current info on the page everyone is chatting on but it will get lost on a back page when things get busy or I don't stop in for some time. I see you use the ole TTT to keep your meet thread on the top and understand why you do it but not when your meet is over with and other meet are coming up. Anyway I agree this could be made better but not sure what would work best for everyone...............

Doc and RT, If you guys need someone to yell at about the meet talk that is going on here you need to yell at me and not E. I brought the subject and idea up. At no time did we discuss closing or changing the meet forum in anyway. The idea was to make a subsection in each of the states sections where you could have different meet related threads for specific info. In example: A thread for location, one for sign-up, one for foods, event times..........

I can see where one could get the idea that I agreed with the enitre post when I stated that I agree with RT.  Sorry if this caused some heartburn and/or confusion. That was not my intent.

Larry it's not this website doing it, you have a false positive in your computer database that will do this when it does not recognize the site and it can not pick up what you are doing, since it can not look at the site this is showing you that the sites anti hack programs are actually working in a correct manner, what I would suggest is going to www.freedownloads.com and downloading malaware bytes it is a free program to use permanently, it updates daily just like all anti-virus programs but you have to initiate the update yourself  and it is the best spyware malaware removal tool on the web. If this doesnt help send me a pm and Ill try sending you in the right direction when I can help you on my home pc it may just be a setting you have to change in your internet explorer options.

Since Internet Security and computer problems happen....maybe we should have a separate "sticky" forum for us to help other Members.

Chad isn't lurking on Fishing right now since I've been sticking around to keep an eye on it. We do try to make sure Hunting & Fishing always get the same website fixes at roughly the same time since the clubs have so much member cross-over.

Regarding the computer/technology questions. Do you guys just want us to create a "Computers and Technology" forum like we have over at Hunting?

Added a Computers and Technology forum.

I also bumped that old "Forum Feedback" forum to the bottom of the forums, because it's not maintained and it just irks people.  The editors' hosted discussions are now up top where they belong.

All the Community functions you guys are bringing up (group emails, better notifications, useful member-to-member communication tools, etc.) are things that the club is looking very closely at.

Why do we even need a last post icon?

On the old site when we clicked on a topic it took us to the last page right away?

I'm not a web expert but I've notice that when I click on a topic with multiple pages listed under the most recent topic list on the community home page it take me to the last page of the topic.

When I click on the same topic on the form page it take me to the first page.

like I said I'm not a expert on web design.. however I would think if you added the same java scrip line to the forum page that you use on the community page  it would take us to the last page on the forum as well.

    just a thought

Thanks for all that your doing to make thing better.

I can relate...and I wonder if it has to do with those of us that show as "Registered Guests" even though we're Life Members.

I tried the Click and Win and got a message that said I needed to be logged in, so I put in my last name and Life Member #...and it said the info doesn't match.

Here's the screenshot of it...I've sent a full size version of this to Member Services.

Jerry....I don't see the same thing you are. I have yet to click on anything except "Last Page" that actually takes me to the last page of a Topic.

    Dave,

Take a look at the blue  selection line above !(home, articles etc)  now look at your screens shot of the contest page  next to the blue contest tab is a tab called community page.. it use to be here on the forum but is gone now ?you can still access it from the contest page..  click on it> it will take you to the community home page  there's a section called  most viewed topics and current topics if you click on the current topic heading any of the topics listed under  it will take you to the last page of that topic

to save you some time here's the page http://www.fishingclub.com/Community/CommunityHome.aspx

A point I would like to make is that most sites require a minmum post count before you can make your own thread or subject, I think this would clear up a lot of the clutter advertisers come in and do that are not active with the site even if it were just 20 replies they had to make before they could start their own thread.

I think there's things we could do to limit access/funtionality non-members. The tough thing though is I've seen club members do this kind of advertising on the forums too. We had a blow-up over at the Handyman club a few weeks back when a member promoted a product in a bunch of threads and it rubbed the other members the wrong way.  I don't think we'll ever be able to do away with it 100%, but I'll stick it on the list.

You can't even post a simple IMG tag :

    [IMG]http://i43.tinypic.com/24o96a1.jpg[/IMG]

    or  HTML :

I`ve been wondering about that myself HB. It just don`t make alot of sense to me that I can use simple HTML code in my siggy yet can`t within my post. It would be much, much easier if we could.

Hillbillyangler,.. actually it's about as simple as it can get.

Just "copy" and "paste" the picture. Go to the picture's hosting site IE: photobucket, etc. right-click - copy,... take it to your message, right-click,.. and paste it. :smiley_doh: :smiley_doh:

No [img] tags,.. nadda' !! It's that simple, works with gif's, etc. also,...  just as long as they are from a website and not just on your computer. :smiley_yahoo:

I'd STILL like to hear SOME type of LOGICAL explanation as to WHY or HOW my addy / personal info was incorrect....instead of a lame "we're sorry".

And another note on this....ya'all keep hearing about various folks going through various things with the Club. As far as I'm concerned...unless the Club comes out PUBLICALLY and makes a statement fairly soon...sooner or later....they're going to end up with Credibility issues.

Don`t know why one would want to do that method when I can open ONE tab on any other site and have instant access to 20 IMG codes in seconds. Them same 20 IMG codes I could post within a minute where as it would likely take me twenty minutes plus to open each pic and copy and paste it as we have to now. Unless of course you now a faster way????????

You guys are way out of my league...Mike, I don't understand or even remember seeing this type of arraingement.  I guess I don't see the urgency for this since there are three different ways to post your pics (that I am aware of).  The one that takes the most effort is uploading to a host site for me.  But at the same time I am all infavor of anything that is deemed as an improvement.

As long as it works for you RT that's all that counts.

I would NOT do it that way for two reasons:

    1. I think you way is a LOT of work...........LOL

    2. Using the NAFC upload they (NAFC) would "own" my pictures , and that was one of the conditions of this new site that took so long for me to come back !!!!!

If I recall it was on or about the 18th of February the speed increased dramaticly with other improvements shortly following. So don't be so quick to disregard your sister club and it's members,... we are the ones who saw to it the repairs got underway in the first place!

So what's the deal,.. you 2 guys the NAFC tag team match?

Not affiliated with the staff or management here or the NAHC,... wouldn't dream of it. As I stated twice earlier,... I came to see the progression of this site compared to the NAHC site. You 2 seem to have great joy trying to belittle a guy who is a fellow Life Member here,.. been one since the middle of 1997.

When all I have actually done since that point in time is to respond to your innuendos regarding me,...

When in the beginning; I was just trying to help someone who (due to my misreading his thread) I thought was asking about how to post a picture. I know,... I'm terrible for trying to offer some help to someone now aren't I .

I think that maybe you both should backup and reread all the posts I made above and see that all I was intending was to help someone who I thought was asking for help,... and got smart assed remarks for trying to do so.

Again,... both of you have a good day,..

At the same time....I've known these 2 guys for a while on the BB here...and they have made NUMEROUS posts over the years in an effort to HELP other Members.

ALL that I AM ASKING you....AND the OTHERS in this Topic....is to take a step BACK from it for a few moments....and let the DUST settle for a day or 2.

    This NEEDS to HAPPEN guyz

My question to whomever runs this board is, is it worth our while to post anything of value to help our fellow anglers without fear of losing that information a year or two from now? I know much information and fishing stories were lost in the last "upgrade", why should we even try to post stuff that can't be archived or brought back?

I've known  Warlock49766  (Terry) on the NAFC BB longer than anyone else that has been posting here , he is good people just like all the rest on the thread I bumped heads with him years ago about long-line trolling with lead core and we get along fine now.

On this BB I do not know anyone who has spent more time trying to help folks more than  ice cube bob  ( Mike ) he will go out of his way to help a fellow member out.

Now HBA is just a good ole boy with a hearth of gold but will say what he thinks and that's why I like him.

You folks all have the same GOAL in mind and I'm sure these darn words on here were just taken wrong. How about you all just EDIT your post in good faith and only leave on there what you want E to read.

    Thanks Guys.

So first up, the HTML code view of your posts and not accepting [IMG] tags. I know what you're getting at. That's the vbulletin model. There's an [IMG] button and it allows [IMG] tags in the post field. Like this...

The board you're all on right now ties directly into a larger content management tool, which has features that work better for an intranet. That's why the copy & paste method for images works here.

Bill Miller is correct in stating that there have been lengthy discussions about social networking, but that neither he, Chad, myself, Steve Pennaz (etc.) are the ones making the ultimate decision. Trust me guys, I've been rattling off every single thing members have ever asked for on the websites, plus every thing current (and upcoming) in the web world. If it were up to me this site would be like so awesome you'd never want to leave. The best I can do is keep hurling things at the wall and hoping something sticks.

As far as saving things, the likelihood of a complete slash-and-burn start over is very low at this point.  I will give you a heads up if something changes.

Thanks for ALL you hard work E...

And we'd appreciate the "heads up" if things get to that point.

Don't know HOW you missed us being an "exhaustive bunch" in the beginning

    Dave,

You kill me with your wit!  Keep on with the keeping on and ICB do the same as I've said in the past you guys are truely gems!

Yes, Dave I do remember all the help you gave me three years ago with how to resize pictures etc, and it was very pleasant to talk with you on the phone.  I do hope to one day meet you and shake your hand!

As far as the website upgrades go and Mr. "E" keep plowing through brother because I am sure you are just getting started! LOL

I can state that as far as dowloading and opening up things I have never experienced any problems with the site......Thank goodness because I am not computer savy enough to handle those kind of problems! LOL

I don't know if this is a site issue or an ISP issue on my end, but have you noticed that when you do a "quote" that the text disappears over time...When you first bring up a topic / post you can read the text, but give it a minuet or so and it starts to disappear.  This seems to be getting worse as time goes on!

I'm sure it has to do with us bumping the default text size up. The blue box that outlines the quote is probably defaulting to fit the height of the old text, instead of expanding out to encompass the new height. That's why we're seeing overlap.

Easy way to fix it for now guys till they get it fixed is to just re-highlight what you dont see hold down your left mouse button and drag to "copy" it, it will make the words pop right back up.

I noticed now that there is no way to put any information about yourself in the profiles on the forums?? There are no buttons at the bottom either for your own website or for email, etc?? Is it possible to add this?

Funny., at the bottom of the screen is "Contact the Club". If you click on that you should get an e-mail pop-up with the club memberservices in the "TO" Address.  Atr least it shows on my screens.

So, are you asking why doesn't the forum (and/or member's profile page) have contact info for that member?

Or are you asking why we only have a little mailto link and not an actual form to fill-out to contact member services?

Hey!  I did not write this question!  My quote is below stating that whoever did write this question can still contact the club by using the "Contact the Club" at the bottom of almost every page. It is on the bottom of the screens in GREEN.

No. I am saying on many forums you have a way to view the members website if they have one, send them an email, (not a PM), not an email to the club, I can see that, the "Standard" items on most every forum. That is what I am asking. In the MEMBERS own profile there is no information. That is what I am saying.

LOL I know I can put my website in the signature line, but the reason I said that about the buttons is because if it's in the signature line, then somebody here, will surely say, you are a spammer or some other BS because "I" added it myself. If it was in the button, then if they clicked on it it would be "Their" idea.  That is why. There are so many people here who give you a raft of crap for the slightest thing, that I don't add it except when there is some direct info related to the post that they should see at my site.

that don't constitute spam in my book .

Hey PSG---- The club didn't have anything to do with it; the chatroom is property of EVE.com. They are the ones who kept it alive after NAFC changed over to a different system! The thing to ask the Administration people is can we get a Chatroom back or not??? Sure would be nice if we could!.. How about it MR Kurt??------Bill J.

As we've explained before, the old message board and chat room were hosted by a third party company. That company discontinued the services we were using and no longer supports them. Members have been going to them anyway, but it was just a matter of time before the third party site pulled the plug completely.

Do you think there was a reason for members going to them anyway? Like maybe, just maybe it was the one spot members could actually "get together and talk to on another" "LIVE"??????? No SIR., my question to you is: WHEN WILL YOU COMPUTER PEOPLE GET ON THE STICK AND LISTEN TO WHAT YOUR MEMBERS WANT., AND RE-ESTABLISH THE CHAT ROOM ON "OUT SITE"??? Surely it does not take a geniius to figure out that this was and will be a popular addition to your "NEW & IMPROVED SITE!!!!! And yes I am still angry about this. Also I do not care for this new reply or post box you computer experts have come up with either.

Maybe just Maybe you folks could start another Chat Room for us ???? it's not like were asking for something we didn't already have before you folks changed things (for the better ?) And I also don't care for the way you have structured the Reply or Post box !!!!!

Hi Everyone, The old chat room was run by a third party we used to work with for the websites.  Since we’ve changed over to the new site we have not officially had a chat room.  Because a chat room is so popular we are going to try a new one.  You can access it by going here http://www.fishingclub.com/club/Def...op=151278.  If it is successful we may eventually put a link to it on the website.

You’ll automatically log in as a guest to the chat room.  Click on the username you’ve been assigned in the lower left corner to edit it.  On the right hand side you’ll be able to see everyone that is in the room.

I know there are a few other threads about the chat room that I'm going to try and find to add this link, but please feel free to share this link with other members.

Keep your eye on the bobber,
