I gave a legit tip for the kid to follow. If he's a rude kid, I won't bother. If he's a nice kid, I will help him out. That's my decision. Not yours to decide if I was trying to pick a fight with the kid or not. When these kids know better than not to post their age on the internet.

Actually I've been a member since June but I don't post here much. I only know about my area as far as fishing goes. I also am a member of 2 other forums and run 3 of my own. so it's not easy to keep up with everything on all of them. I have about 95% of my forum members joined here.

I can respect that you're busy with your other forums. I by no mean represent this club's management or it's views. You ought to know that. However you called me out and labled me as someone starting to pick some kind of fight. I don't go around doing that. I care for this forum as a member just like any other member would. Why the sudden bone to pick with me? If I questioned someone's posting I will address them to clarify it. That's my choice. If I want to bring some humor into a thread, that's my choice. I don`t forget. If you wish I will go find the thread in which you made another one of your ASSumptions and called the "old timer" a newbie because of his low post count on this site. There were three or four sites prior to this pos one today. He is no newbie and knows more about fishing in his little finger than most will ever know. It`s not a matter of calling you out. It`s about protecting a kid. This kid threw no punches, he asked for help. Respect is earned, not given. If you kept up with the convo...I did attempt to reply to the kid on that day at that time....luck would have it...maybe divine intervention...but mostly internet hiccup...my first helpful reply didn't go through...then I saw multiple spam like posts...

I speak to all members on the boards with equal respect on topic.  I make no special provisions until I'm engaged in a direct conversation.  I'm nice on equal level and many times more courteous than have been given.  I asked for nothing else but the same courtesy I've shown.  You can at least give me that.

I don't care to get personal with cyber personalities.  I actually care about this board and how people discuss and share information far more than you give me credit for.  If you believe that I don't care, it's not me, but the members who appear to don't care from my POV.  Don't care to ask another member to clarify what they meant.  Don't care to be a little bit more open minded about topics in discussion.  You can read just about all my posts and it's like that same thing all again.  I can't change who I am, no more than you changing yourself.  You read it wrong, you jump to conclusions, you start a piss match, what do you want in return for it?  I read it wrong, I set make a neutral position post, I get response, I proceed from there.  You blow wind my direction, I blow it right back at you.  I just don't care to start something of that nature.

I kept that topic for any tips on topic, very netrual.  If the kid responded, then it gives me a point of refereence to provide help to him.  Again another assumption.  If he doesn't, then he may have to post more spam like posts, that I may have to ignore in the future.  There's no help if the help goes out to empty space.  I could easilty have jested the posts with please dial 911.  All fun and games, but it seems the current members have no sense of humor.  When I do it, it's my choice.

I guess my 1000 post will have to wait for another day....

A reasonable question is does this person really want help...because if they do...they SHOULD answer back to folks that take the time to reply in a topic.

Even if they are 10 years old...if they are for real...responding back is a "common courtesy" that MOST real folks will do.

Well, it looks like the digital altercation went on far to long! Let's all try to keep this site positive! Although, that would be easy in a perfect world huh? I know there are some grumpy people on this site!

I may have a difference in opinions on fishing but I always want to learn other people's methods and ways to help improve my own and possilbly change my way of thinking. Just like most people, I too get tired of the inside cliques that does nothing but belittle others. A conversation is just a conversation and it stays in the conversation, but some people like to throwdown and carry it over all over the bulletin board. This whole thread was nothing but bringing to light of how some people go about taking pot shots at others. It wasn't even like they paused for a moment to ask for a clarification on anything. I don't care how smart or witty someone thinks of themselves constantly trying to prove their point by degrading others. They may not have much of any respect for others, but directly disrepecting me was just too much for me to keep myself quiet. Actually that business has been going on these boards for like over 10 years, but only this time it's was directly down to name calling. Now I can laugh about it and make it into a funny obnoxious Jay Leno meets WWE remark or something.
