I just got home a few hours ago. Looks like I have a bunch of catching up to do. Vacation was good. Fishing was pretty tough for the week, but we got a few here and there. I'll have some pics once I get a little more settled. Trout were not nice this week. Rather rude to be honest. First day I hooked a pig that broke my 5X leader like it wasn't there. The only other one I hooked puckered up and spit the hook after a short battle. Fishing barbless isn't all that much fun, but regulation where we fished. We managed to get the boat out on Davis Lake through this skinny little channel where we used the oars in "pole" fashion to get to the main water. Davis was once a premier trophy Trout, fly fishing only lake with some huge rainbows. Someone decided Bass would be nice and illegally introduced them there and another trophy lake, Crane Prairie. Needless to say, through predation and the taking of trophies, the Bass have taken over and almost eliminated the Trout. So we went Bass fighing with our fly rods. Salt patterns seemed the most productive, and we managed quite a few fish in our time on the water. Nothing huge, but my son ended up the winner in the head to head competition. Pics tomorrow. I did get some really nice pics of some of the rivers and lakes in the area which I'll post here and there. Good to be back.
