Hi all, I am new to this BB, and I would just like to get some feedback.
What do you feel about the NAFC and it's coverage of Fly Fishing?
I find this forum very helpful, but the magazine and other information here is mainly for other types of fishing. Am I alone on this?
Thanks for any feedback.

They don't cover much of it but honestly there is only about a dozen of us on the web that number being significantly low. I would like to see them do more flyfihsing, but not sure if they really have a market for them. I'm sure those of us that would apprieciate it could make it a valuable article to the mag if they would let us!.

Hey there Paul T, welcome to the club. As dawsonb stated there's not a lot of fly fishermen here on the bb. But our numbers are growing. I, too, would like to see more fly fishing articles ini the mag. and also more fly fishing segments on the tv series. And as dawsonb already said, we could make it a valuable article if they would only let us.

what they cover fly fishing thats news to me...
its prety scarce and i dont know why that is.
perhaps they dont fly fish them selfs.
but we do have afew active members who do ...
and not just for trout and panfish either.
if you read through the bb you can see that we are a growing group and willing to share are knowledge with others .
so so far all we realy have is the web sight to share and pass on knowledge.

Hi again, Thanks for the feedback. I have enjoyed reading back through the posts, and as you guys have shared, those of us who fish are more than willing to share.
I guess the best we can hope for is that they will start reading the FF BB and get the idea that a few articles would help membership.

somebody hit on a great idea - just a page or two in each magazine - some tidbits and tips, maybe a short article, pictures, fly recipe, product reviews - same as everything else, but just a small section for those of us that like to fling feathers into trees and bushes

I would certainly like to see more articles on fly fishing but we do have to keep in mind that we are a minority our club. I don't have a problem with that but we must be considerate of those that do not share our passion for fly fishing. At least fly fishing is still fishing and most people can appreciate that fact.
The feel of a fish on a good fly rod and the burst of power when you twist a Harley throttle are just a couple of life's little joys.

I think they should do a couple articles a year on it. Why not its fishing aint it. Maybe they will read this and put something about it in next years mags.

Ive never been fly fishing. Id like to learn how to fly fish for bass though. A good friend of mine tells me if I get some waders he will take me out fly fishing for trout, but I am not a trout fisher.
I am also have a silly question about fly fishing. is it only a fresh water sport, or can it be done with an ocean rig as well?

Maybe we should have posted this thread in the "North American Fisherman Wants Your Story" forum. At least we know the magazine people read that thread.
THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO READ THESE!
