how come if you have a negative comment about a product you review you never see it in the magazine. all you see are the comments of people falling  over themselves to praise the item. i think your readers deserve to hear both sides i have reviewed several products and given both good and bad reviews . lets hear both sides or has the club already decided before they send out the product that the product is good for its members and will only print the good comments

Good question Duck, I agree. I would like to see both sides of the coin, the club sends out several amounts of the same product & I'm sure not everyone is going to like it. Also, I would like to see if the club could find some "budget" products to be tested or reviewed for the average/ weekend angler. I'm sure theres enough members out here that are't able to or going to spend $260.00 on the new Abu Garcia Revo or $180.00 on these Kistler rods I seen reviewed. Darrell

I would think they need to make the reviews in the magazine positive in order for the advertisers to give them the products in the first place.

There is that seperate Online Reviews area on the website for folks to suggest products to review and say whatever they want. I just don't think most of us have bothered to suggest products.

    Duck, DH & Fuzz:

Look at the title of that section in the magazine and you'll see that it's "Field Tested And Approved."

We spread the word about gear that your fellow Members actually recommend. However, if a Tester has a suggestion to improve an item that has been approved, we want to publish that, too.

Yes I can agree with your take on the situation and I would like to see another section on the page that talks about a tested item that does not make the 5 stars so that the members/readers are informed before they may spend/waste money on a purchase that could go to some thing more worth while......

NAFC Editor, thank you for your reply. I need to retract some of my earlier post, after reading over some older issues of the mag. you have indeed covered several items in all price ranges. Sorry... Darrell

I don't think we really need to know what products didn't make the grade.  I think we can assume that if it isn't approved, then it didn't make it, & should probably be stepped around in favor of the products our fellow members have given the nod to.  What I would like to see is a more complete listing of N A F C approved stuff on the website.  All I see is stuff that's been tested & approved recently.  If the listing was more complete,  I believe it would better achieve the goal of making us wiser shoppers.  It'd sure be easier to have it "on tap," so-to-speak, on the website than having us thumb through back issues of the magazine in the hopes of finding something approved that we need.  Even discontinued models, etc., should be included, because many of us with thin wallets do our shopping on eBay.  God bless all.  -Sonny
