I found the article by Kurt Beckstrom (April 2008) to be informative, however, with the scarcity of water in the West, I can't believe anyone would run water for 10 to 15 minutes at full volumne just to tune a lure.  How wasteful of a valuable resourse.  Sure hope this practice does not become widespread.

I couldn't agree more.  How many gallons of water would get wasted by running water for 10-15 minutes PER BUZZBAIT?  The southeast endured a bad drought in '07, and while it has gotten better, many places are still short on water.  I'm disappointed the editors decided to publish a 'tip' like that.
