Hello editor, I became a life member back in the late 1990's and I noticed you run an excerpt roll call of life members in each magazine but I have yet to see my name on any list and wanted to be sure I was listed as a life member expecially since I can't find anything on the web site that identifies me as a life member. |

Hello, same here. I haven't seen my name either. I too have been a member since the 1990s. Unless we overlooked it. There should be someplace they an put all the Life members name on a page for all to look at as well as our state we live in. Bassn' Al Allen C. |

The Life Members Only topic should maintain a list of lifers and the state they live in, but I wonder if this might be too much work for the Club's staffers. Tom |

Same here I have been a member since late 1991. We all know who we are. Did you get an letter asking for more cash to bump up your life membership and get a few more perks for 129.00 billed out in installments? Funny I guess instead of giving us for free they need to make more money. Oh well. Good luck all during this years fishing season. |

Hi Everyone,
My name is Peter, I’m the Webmaster for the North American Fishing Club. I was going through the threads on the bulletin board, came across this one, and wanted to get some info for you.
I checked with the editorial department for the club’s magazine; what you've heard about the upcoming lead-ban in National Parks is a result of poor communication by the National Park Service (NPS) or poor reporting by the general media--probably some of both. What the NPS intended to say is that it will halt the use of lead by its own employees for official park activities in 2010. No such ban will be in place for the public at that time. However, the NPS is moving forward toward an overall lead-ban in the future (fishing tackle included). Rest assured, the process will take time, and will include the required process in which interested parties may express their opinions and concerns.

Thanks Peter-- I don't think that many of us knew that; I for one didn't! Why the devil didn't the NPS and media spell it out to the public in plain English? With the media it is understandable, as they publish what they want
regardless of truth or whatever! Oh well, thanks for your response. Hope you drop in more often. Take Care and God Bless!---------Bill J.
PS: Doesn't congress have this subject up for legislation?? |

Hey Peter, Some of us got that. It was in one of the links Dave posted in the RIGHT thread. The NAFC never ceases to amaze me!!! How dare NAFC insult Life Members by offering an "UPGRADE" to "Trophy Life Member". What's next? Lunker Trophy Life Member?, then Super Lunker Trophy Life Member? how about Ultimate Super Trophy Life Member. I've been a Life Member since the early 90's and all I've received were offers to spend more money and a $2.49 piece of plastic to test and report on. The "perks" that they are now offering for an ADDITIONAL $129 should have already been given to so called Life Members. I am extremely disappointed by this insult and I dare NAFC to publish this thread in the magazine...excuse me..the PAMPHLET now being put out only seven times a year. I suggest that all other Life Members protest. I guess Steve Pennaz needs more money to go fish exotic places most of his Life Members cannot afford. SHAME ON YOU!!! |

I have been a Lifer since the early 90's myself. I have never won a contest if there is actually is any. I do not know how many times have sumbmitted into any any of these so called contests. Steve P. sure gets to go to alot of places to fish though. All they want is your money. I got so teed off at them I sent them nasty gram and could not get logged back onto the site for 2 years. I just recently in the last 2 weeks tried to get in and finally was able to. In my profile I am listed as a Life Member but as "inactive". What the heck is that supposed to mean? I paid all my dues from the beginning. They suck |

Yeah, I got that so-called upgrade offer too. $129.00 for a hat, patch, map, and discount to a store that's 100+/- miles away? Nice benefits, NOT! To Steve Pennaz: Here's an idea! Take a Life Member with you on an exotic, all expense paid, fishing trip! Obviously, you can afford it. That just might be a start to our forgivness for doing us so wrong. Ben Bryant

P.S. Peter, Try reading a post before you reply with unrelated information. It looks better if you atleast make an attempt to address our questions/concerns. Ben Bryant
