It is not part of the test program, it is their Fishing Library program, which is entirely volunteer. I for one like it. Got my first book a few days ago. I received Trilene line and two bobbers. I will use the bobbers on my Propeil Pocket Fisherman that I picked up to fish alongside the roads down here when I don't have my pole and reel.
They should have given you a return postage paid sticker to return it. All you have to do is call them, on their 800 number, or include a note and they will stop the fishing library program for you. Personally I am requesting them to send me a list of books in the library, since I might buy a few more. I think for what you get free, they are a bargain. ($10.54) But there will be some books I have no use for. The Bass Strategies book is very good, and if I'm not actually fishing I enjoy reading about it.
I've known the NAFC for over twenty years, but just joined so I am newer then you. But it is worth it, you meet terrific people. And most want to help you. I would vote for you to try the library for a month or two, request a list of what's in it.........and then decide. Happy fishing!
