    I have a Lowrance 520c with gps it shows alkes but not much detail,is there some other chip I need?

    Your Lowrance probably has several hundred lakes in the background map, but yes, to get high detail on other lakes, you need to install a Fishing HotSpots or Lakemaster (Mich, Wisc & Minn) map chip.

    I own a Lowrance LMS 525c. I was fortunate to recieve a FHS map MMC card with my unit and the detail is incredible! I believe that these cards(There are 5 of them) are about $100 each, but cover a fairly large area. The one I have covers Il, IN, Mi, Wi, Mn, Nd, Sd, Mt, and Ia. Not bad for $100. Not every lake is detailed, but the popular ones are, with good detail down to bottom composition. Tom
