Sounds good mr bill! I was just wondering how do you find out about these member meets? Are they published in the magazine or posted here on the forum somewhere?

On the main Forum page....scroll down until you see "Member Meets".

Or look in your specific state sub-forum for get-togethers

IM GLAD I WAS SMART ENOUGH TO CATCH THEIR GIMMICK BEFORE I SENT ANY MONEY. I SEE ALOT OF MEMBERS ARE LESS THAN SATISFIED.I RECEIVED A SCRATCH OFF THAT LURED ME TO THE WEIGH AND FILLET GIVEAWAY FOR BECOMING A MEMBER FOR 2 YEARS, THEN WHEN I GET THE BILL YOU HAVE TO BECOME A MEMBER FOR 3 YEARS INSTEAD, IMALSO SMART WNOUGH TO KNOW THAT THE TESTING PRIVALEGES ARE FOR MEMBERS THAT ARE  PROS, HAVE CHARTER GUIDES,  ETC. GOOD LUCK ON GETTING YOUR REFUND, YOU NEED TO HOLLAR OUT TO ALL YOUR FISHING BUDS ALSO SO THEY DONT GET "LURED IN" I SENT A LETTER TO THEM BUT IM SURE I WILL BE KICKED OFF THE NET SOON, BUT WHO KNOWS UNTIL THEN I WILL EXSPRESS TO ALL WHAT A SHAM THIS IS

Ladybug1: I’m not sure what led you to this opinion, but most of our members report that they are very happy with their experience. If you have a specific complaint, I'd be more than happy to forward your concern to Member Services. -- Regards, Greg Huff -- NAFC Social Media Editor

Hey All,

I wanted to pop in and to clear up any confusion in regards to our membership offers.

When you receive the offer to become a member you have the option to try the club out on a 30 day free trial basis and receive a free issue of the North American Fisherman magazine. After the 30 day trial is up you have the option to pay for a 1, 2 or 3 year membership or you can cancel without any questions asked. The cost of membership is $12.00 per year however we do bill for two years at the rate of $24.00.

Along with the membership offer you also receive the “Members Bill of Rights” which states:

“YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO A FULL REFUND if you ever grow dissatisfied with the Club for any reason during your first year of membership. Upon your request, you’ll get a full 100% refund of your dues paid. You do not have to return any of the benefits, gifts, or privileges you’ve already received.”

In order request a refund you can contact member services by phone at 1-800-843-6232 or via email at memberservices@fishingclub.com. You can also contact member services by clicking on the “CONTACT THE CLUB” link which is located at the bottom of each web page.

Also, in order to become an official product tester we ask that our members submit a product test profile. Members are then chosen on a first come, first serve basis, provided they meet the manufacturers criteria.

Our goal is to involve as many members as possible in the Field Testing program. In the magazine, you will see test products in a wide range of values.

Due to the popularity of this benefit we ask that our members allow anywhere from 8-12 months from the date they submit their test profile in order to receive a product test item, however times can vary. Product testing is open to all of our members on an equal level.

It is our hope that if you have any questions or concerns in regards to your membership that you contact member services and we would be more than happy to assist you.

Ladybug1 I have contacted you via Private Message and will be more than happy to assist you further should you have any further question or concerns.

Thank you,

Shawn

For someone who claims to be so smart, you come off as awfully stupid ladybug1. If you will forgive me for saying so? The club is better off without you. Thanks for leaving!

Just a reminder, we'd rather find solutions to make the club experience better for all that lose members, so if you are having any troubles, be sure to contact me and I will put you in touch with someone who can help you. For website speed an function problems, report any glitches to me and I will make sure to include them in my reports to the IT guys. I can't solve many of these problems personally, but I promise you guys that I will personally take care of making sure your feedback gets to the right people and that they respond to it -- Web Guy Greg

And I think I speak for my fellow members when I say that we really appreciate it. I know a lot of them feel like they have been neglected somewhat over the years. But I see things are moving in the right direction.

OK I am a pretty cheap person and try to save as much money to blow on Fishing equipment/lures, Boat and Jeep (all money pit hobbies) as possible and I must say I just don't understand these people who are so anti this club.  it is TWELVE dollars a YEAR!!!  The magazine alone is worth the $12.00, then add in the other benefits that may come by or may not and you are a head of the game.  NOW add in the cost of keeping up the website and forums and you are well beyond the $12 a year.

Is the mail man busting my mailbox open with all the free gifts and trials - no.  I have not been a member for a year and I got one small test item - hey it was free and I actually liked the product so score (and no I am not a pro, charter, or anything else - just a guy with a small boat and a love for fishing).  I have not been here a year yet and I can't say I have met anyone from here yet but I have got some great info from posting and reading the forums - Still all for that $12 a year.

I belonged to this club years ago and there was only some stickers and magazine and maybe a few other perks (I don't recall it has been a loooong time).  I don't recall the cost but basically I got a magazine for the money and was happy with it then and am now (I left because other things took me away from fishing for several years).

Hey BigEdV the club also charges almost $300.00 to become a Life Member. So I think a lot of the disgruntled members may be angry and bitter about that. Im glad I joined and would do it again!

I can say that for myself the cost of a lifetime membership was worth it for me and have gotten my money's worth. If I had it to do over right now though I probably would not become a life member only because I don't have the money for extras and that may be why like captain said that people are grumbling about the cost. at the time when i first signed up I had the money to do so. 300 bucks is a big chunk of change right now. I can't remember what the dues were when I signed up. and like bigEd said 12 bucks a year is very reasonable for what you get. I spend that on a subscription to Infisherman and get less.
