ozarker if you still want in to the club keep bumping this to the top with a new post, i know the editors would help on this questions cuz it's a money question? if the editors don't help you out i would wonder what there boss's would think, when they git a email from you or me, wondering why you can't get help from any official club workers/editors  to help you spend your money, on such a wonderfull club! 

ozarker you are just gitting a taste of the club , i assure you! if you got a mouthfull you would surely spit! good luck, and if you find a great club somewhere let us hear about it...!!!

I am a lifer.  If this site goes down, I will still get the magazine for the rest of my life.  I enjoy the articles and seeing the pictures in the catch and release contest.  Since they changed the website, I have noticed a steep decline in posts, sometimes only one or two in the bass section.  They have to be aware that they are not getting the hits they were before the changes.  I have started going to other sites to get the info that I used to get on this site.  It appears that many others have too.

I have been a member for almost a year and have yet to test any cool products. Am I missing something? Has anyone tested any good fishing tackle?

I got to test a towel that I ended up using in the kitchen.

I received a few spools of fishing line and a package of hooks. I was expecting the opportunity to test something.

I was thinking of becoming a life member but am starting to wonder if this is just a way of getting membership fees.

Anyone out there test anything besides a towel?

ok, i am curious.. i see no where on this site to pay for my subscriptions to the magazine? i do not want to send my CC# info in via mail. i would rather do it by phone or net? any one have any info on how to do this?

pianoman i'd love to help you, but i think the editors should take charge of there OWN section...instead of us doing it for them...so you will be helped in the order in witch your request was posted, so dont hold your breath, cuz ozarker has been on hold `cents march 14!!!!

duncan, i never did git in to the hole testing for the same reason.... if you stay with it supposedly they will send more and more things to test, and of course they should git better, but they wont just send you a fish finder to test right off, i think they need to build trust in you testing abillaty....? 

Ok, Ozarker and Pianoman, NY, go to the home page and down at the bottom is a life membership button.  Click on it.  The life membership is $285.00 less any previous payments you have made.  If you are joining for the wealth of knowledge on the bulletin board, the friendships, the lifetime of magazines, then you are in the right place.  However, if you want to test products, you will be better off paying by the year.  At least each time you renew your membership, you will get some fishing line, or some artifical bait.  Since I became a life member I haven't gotten the first product to test.  Prior to that, I got something at least every year!

guys i know you are try`n to help but how is it helping the club when this is the editors section and they don't post? if we keep helping the editors they will do nothing..POINT IN CASE this section !..i know  who cares? this place sucks and no one will ever git on the same page to try and fix it, one of us pulls the other pushes. if you want to help the club grow and git better it is in my opinion that we stop helping the edds...

 why are they searching for stories and old lures when they have plenty of people here to help?and plenty of members stories.  question directed to them, and all about the grand dollar, and instead of them doing there JOB like we & all those addvertisment we hate to see pay them to do , we help them and they git to slack more...if i didn't see edditors post only when it is for there gain it may be diffrent... but so far they are out to better there own job & they don't give a f**** about the stupid club,,, its a job !....... i don't know, what you guys want but if this is it.... the club can suck you dry! they don't care! and i feel like i aint goin to care! F da club....

somewhere/how a few of us need to git together to talk out what we can do, so we all push together IF you/we want change!

you know the edds wont fix this place till their boss says to....how will that happen?  i don't know but helping edditors and addmins do there job just doesn't seem like it will work, but keep try`n guys, if it's all we got... i can't anymore...all i got is stupid useless post from now on i can't help members anymore, sorry! it beating a dead hourse till it come back to life, and then you beat it to death again....

Hi everyone

I am a recent new member returned after several years away. I quit paying dues not because I hated the site but because of limited local interest at the time and I joined other groups with more local people posting. The one thing I can say from experience is that most of the people here are much friendlier than on other forums. Sure, most other forums have lots of people that will aswer questions and post tips. But his is the only forum where I have ever recieved offers of trading trips or just come down and lets go fishing. The magazine is not great. Very few people will be lucky enough to test anything valuable. But the tv show is good. The knot wars and other online tips are good and the people are great. I really don't understand what some of you expect for 12 bucks a year. Bass sent me a useless tackle bag that holds one small tray. Infisherman sends me a good magazine and some decals. Field and stream the same story. And they all hound you to death with subscription renewals. If you are disgruntled then please send them an angry letter or private e-mail. But angry posts talking about how much it sucks will only scare off new trial members. Without new members we will all be looking for a new forum and you wont find one with as good of people as you have here. If you want better tips and more in depth info in a forum go to bass resource. But don't expect to make many new friends. In short the tv show is new to my area and that peaked my interest to look again and I found some new local people and have allready went fishing with some new freinds. Thanks NAFC. Fix the bad without destroying the good.

i to have met and fished with some great people, learnd alot on here, and have had my fun, i don't want to loose that but i am facing reality and it hurts....

facing facts~ the post was writen on march 14 08 in the editors section...fact~ this is a money question. fact no edditors ever gave a care or once acknowledge this question....fact~ the edditors are paid with are dues and the addvertising we are sold. fact~ the edditors incharge of this section dont do there job. (does there boss know?) 

fact ~i dont want to scam anyone into joining this club and have them unhappy with me(what about you, did you or anyone you know try to sell you  this club or Amway? "hey come by for dinner i got something to talk to you about bring the wife it will be fun" (scamed) did it make better feinds or worse?>i dout you talk to them and more or they dont talkd to you)~, so i dont realy care if people see this post it may let them see more truths....

so if you are thinking of joining like ozarker,and have read a few post above about where and how much to pay for the membership,heres is what you git ~ great people who are leaving(i dont blame them)~ a OK mag~ crappy test products ~ edditors and addmins who dont give a crap about you or me, unless we have a story for them that might git a few good ratings ~they wont even stop in here to collect money? 

don't act now cuz there is more,way more! we can gladly  spread the payment out for you over as long of a time frame as you want , you may however need to censor the mag from children, doto sexual addvertisements ,tobbaco adds~ like smart smokers whearhouse (? oximoron or what~smart smokers?) and other non approperiate adds(like page 79 of april 09 issue, dont loose focus cuz it scared the hell out of me!) ....how much would you expect to pay ? a $1,000! git out of here! it is much cheaper than that, cuz we use people that git paid to do a job but dont work, and to help pay for this more, you will also git  scam'd if you clik any addvertising link on here, and as many free cookies and junk emails that will spin your head and make your internet conection weather its cable  or dsl seem OWE~so worth the money!...and yes I DID SAY FREE cookies! also if you act right now we will throw in some zipper pulls hooks and a sticker(so you can addverise this great club?) WOW! )if this doesnt sit right with you and are not fully happy you can call one of are reps in india and we can dig up a bamboo steamer or something....owe wait....this just in for the next 100,000 members who we sucker,,,, scam,i mean git to pay thier dues, we opted to not cut the cost in half but keep it the same,  and we  the club save all this money by not burdining you with usless information on any NAFC meet goin on in your area that are put on by great members who walk around with knifes in there backs, owe ya we also saved a boat load of money on car insurance!!!

anynew member or wana be's can see  from this post that no edditor ever came over to welcome ozarker, to take his money, why should I try to take his money ,or you or you....

why should any of us try to even post in the edditors section?when a edditor is spossed too!  

i am tierd of helping, with no goal for the club insight! when the people who make the money dont care to even try to organize ther money making club it feels useless..

the list of friends i have not seen or heard from on here is gitting longer and longer.... i can't find away to change it, and no one appearanlty wants too organize a way to try... i now know why some of them older bb guys dont come here anymore....i feel there pain too...

i think i have a year left on my  subscription, and that will be enought of this club! SO edditors save the money that you spend on renewals fee reminders and go on vacation, it wont matter anyway!  

i am so glad to see some of you keep helping others, i am not sure it is what will keep the club growing, and i have no clue how some of you can doit?!>? i am sorry i can't help more!   blaa blaa blaa!   

IBT.  I have helped people all my life.  If someone asks me for help, they get it!  Sometimes, they don't even have to ask!  Just because you are disgruntled, doesn't mean that ozarker and others like him shouldn't be helped.  I don't live that way and never will. 

It is a shame that you want everyone to turn their back on someone else to make a point to the editors.  Instead of being short with a newcomer, why don't you contact the club with your issues and try to resolve it with them instead of trying to take the club down with you.

I'm sorry if I sound harsh, but he was asking for help and you just said in so many words, "It's not my job".  Shame

Goinfshn, how are you?  You know, I think you're getting the wrong impression about our fellow member lbt.  He DOES want to help new members & new anglers.  A short while back, one of the newest members voiced a legitimate complaint in one of the threads about how the use of slang terms by us more experienced anglers on this website is confusing, & that this slang was getting in the way of helping him gain the knowledge he needed to better himself as a fisherman.  It was lbt who started a thread for beginners to help try to define these terms, & he did so almost immediately.  He jumped right on it, & encouraged other Club members to do likewise.  So, I think you got it wrong when you came away with the impression that he wants to ignore new members/anglers just to tork the editors' noses.  He has... & does... offer his help & advise to the Club.  He's just highly upset at the level of incompetence the NAFC displays in their handling of the website, & he's venting about it.  Granted, he's venting in a way that'd make Dennis Miller blush with envy, but that's all he's doing:  venting his frustration.  This is also a point where I agree with him, &... if I'm reading your postings in this thread right... where you agree with him as well.  The website is being handled like a bunch of first graders are running it.  I know that I have been disheartened with the way they do things here.  The fact is that the Club just does not handle this Forum with the same level of competence that they do the magazine & TV show.  It seems... as I've stated before... that either the website isn't being supervised properly, or it's being outsourced to a company that just doesn't care.  Either way, it's a shoddy state of affairs.  By your March 24th & April 14th posts in this thread, you seem to agree with this, & seem to have taken the attitude I have about it:  let's work around these uncaring louts who apparently run this site, accept what's good about the Club, & work around the obstacles.  I believe our fellow member with the red face & clenched fists thinks the same way, & has just decided to deal with it a different way.  But he, still, is doing just what you & I are... he's trying to work around the obstacles & still complete the goal that this Club is all about:   to make people better anglers by giving his advise & sharing his knowledge.  And I think he's doing a good job of that, as well.  I believe, Goinfshn, that you have brother member lbt all wrong.

P.S. to Rodtender:  how've you been?  Yeah, Amway DOES have some pretty good stuff, don't they?

Only complaint I have is that it's been a long winter LOL  I'll be doing much better after saturday LOL a group of us are wetting a line for walleyes.
