I live on a lake that is brackish water it's loaded with these big black catfish I wouldn't eat them because they are nasty looking, but someone told that they are great eating, has anyone ever heard of these, I have never seen black catfish before, someone else told me you can't eat them. Can you tell me anything about them? they are about 2ft. long we catch them and throw them back in. Thanks in advance. pmmr

it sounds like you have a lake full of black bullheads and yes they are good to eat. you just might want to eat the ones that are a little bit smaller thou, bexcause these are the better tasting ones. 2ft. thou sounds a little bit on the big side for these fish, i would bet if you put a tape to them they'll run closer to 15in..
