Hi Tank welcome to the club. Being a life member has no time contingency, all you have to do is fork over the cash. You can contact member services, and I'm sure they'll be more than happy to send you the paperwork. As far as the field testing goes it usually seems like it's once a year for me. You have to fill out a survey and submit it and wait to get chosen, then test the product, send in your report and fill out another survey and get picked again.

I haven't gotten anything for a while, but the last test products I got were in the late fall, too late to test that year!  By the time the water gets soft again, you have lost the paperwork for it.  Then you have to contact member services about the paperwork.

Seriously, it depends on how many people with your profile have applied to be testers.

I received a packet of four hooks to test. These are the easy2hook hooks. At the bottom of the page it requires me to fill out a survey by going to www.FishingClub.com/report. No matter what I do I can not get into this web site. Does it even exist? Any help is appreciated. Thanks Rich

A package of 4 hooks and they want an evaluation? I'm sorry but my time is worth more than 75cents(if that) worth of hooks! Don't get me wrong, I love the club and the message boards, but if 4 hooks is a "field test" that is worse than bogus! My one and only test was the Banjo Minnow '06 Big fish kit or something to that order. Tom

There is no guarantee what you will get to test, but if you do not send the report in then why should they send you something else .  a few of the members have even gone a step farther and sent the  company of the product a thank you letter . Some times  they get extra perks down the road ,  like discounts or a opportunity to test out a new product that the club has nothing to do with .

The Easy2Hook 4-Hooks were hard to handle. I have average size hands being a woman. Someone with very large hands would find these hooks very difficult to use.

Are some of the new members confusing promo items with a field test? The club really should make it clear that a field test item is clearly identified as such. Tom

I think you're right Tom, the new members are probably getting promo items.

I mean, I don't think the club is going to give you a $1 pack of hooks to test. I've tested two items; a filet knife ($20 value) and  a pack of rust inhibitors ( $5).

Also, the club alerts you if you will test an item (they give you almost a months notice).

Test items come with a survey sheet that must be mailed back in. If no sheet is given with item you are receiving a free promo. item

No they are right Yano, I got the Easy2Hooks as well in early November as a field test and it's not a promo. Haven't had the time to test yet until warmer weather, but I have to agree with other posts they are microscopic size 4 and smaller. I have  concerns using them in the retention pond in my neighbourhood on very small bluegill, they'll swallow the whole hook. See what the results are when/if I can actually tie them on to the line.

http://www.fishingclub.com/report if the right page, it will redirect you when you are logged in as because your distributed tests are associated to your member id.

What's there beware of to be a lifer? I haven't done it yet, but would like too someday, it's money why I haven't yet.

Don't become a life member just for the field tests, I consider it a small part of membership. Tom

I have large hands and find the eazy2hook sizes very small and difficult to use with out gloves on this is hard water season in Minnesota.  I had trouble hanging on to the hooks let alone the attach the line.  I did test these out in my kitchen and was able to tye the hooks on the line much eazier.  I also could not find the report section  on the fishing club web site as listed.

I got the easy2hooks as well. They sent them to me earlier this month. It's hard to get motivated to fish in the winter in NC. I too, tested them in my kitchen. I had no problem attaching them to the line, thank god for slim hands! First I cut a piece of mono, about 3' long. Then I attached it to the hook as directed. Then I hooked the edge of the table and pulled. After that I repeated the process with Spiderwire braid. They both did fine! There was no noticable slippage on either. To get to the online report page, I had to logon to the NAFC website then open the report link in a new tab/window.

I must say, I was extremely disapppointed to find that there was only four hooks in the test package. I mean this is only my second field test in thirteen years. It seems they could have atleast sent a pack of twelve. I mean they can send someone a $1200.00 kayak but, can't send out a complete $6.95 pack of hooks? What's the deal? Sometimes, I just don't get what people are thinking.

Easy2hookUSA. Qualitycontrol is an issue. I received only two hooks to test, not four. While tying the #4 hook, the nub that the line is looped around came right off with just a touch, rendering the hook useless. The #12 hook worked as advertised. However, it snapped while I was removing the hook from a trout's mouth, it snapped in two. The steel is either too brittle or cheap. I hope the quality is better on the hooks they're selling than the ones that they give out for samples.
