I received a link in email of a video of Steve, and Dr.Hal fishing new waters in Minnesota. This gave me an idea. Have an essay contest with a small entry fee ( say $5 ) where you tell why you think you should be the one chosen, i.e. what you can contribute to the situation as in knowledge of the fish in your area, and why your favorite unknown to other areas lake should be chosen. Then let Dr. Hal chose the winner. Who ever he chooses wins a fishing trip with him on his boat at the lake that you wrote about in your essay. Set a limit window on the length of the essay, say 300-500 words. The entry fees be used to pay Dr. Hal cost of travel, and use the fishing trip as an episode of the NAF tv show. If it is something that you would be interested in then post here, and perhaps if enough of us say we would enter then they would do it.

NAF produces all of the segments used on the show. Why an entry fee for members that pay dues? I am all for a contest to be a 'guest host' on home waters, boat or shore, Doc or anyone else on the staff would be fine. Make it real interesting and bring along one of the pros like K. Savik and make them fish from shore or a dock/pier! Tom

That is my point to see the real skills. But of all the pros I've seen Dr. Hal seems to have the most to teach you, and me. That is why I say him on his boat. The entry fee is to entice his, or the "Pro" to be willing. If we cover the travel cost then they would be more likely to agree to such a venture. Dr. Hal has a lot to teach about having a small foot print on your favorite waters. He is a fresh water biologist. He would also have a lot of knowledge of how to get the fish to bite that you and I don't have the slightest clue of because of his education. That is my thinking of why him, but we have a top ranked Pro bass fisherman here in sunset about 10 miles from my house in bowie. He teaches Bass fishing like tourniment fishermen. I Don't have much left to learn from them, but I guess others would though. A Question to you guys though; Is Purple a murderer where you live like it is in Texas?
