Funny how we spend countless hour and trek numerous miles in search of the next great fishing hole and we sometimes overlook whats right under our noses. As kids my brother and I would spend countless days fishing the creek just down from our parents place, and the yearly famliy vacation at the lake was always a special time, but as an adult I find my self on the constant search for that one special fishing hole. I've driven hundreds of miles here and there trying to discover the newest place to fish and never considered the one right under my nose. My brother was just in town to visit for a few days and we were out driving the countryside looking for a good spot to fish. We ended up in the town we grew up in just a few miles away and as we were coming into town we passed the golf course and right next to the road was a pond. I remembered one of the guys at work saying he sees people fishing there sometimes while he's golfing so we figured wy not try it. We pulled over grab our poles and started to work our way around the pond. After a couple small perch and my whopping 6 in. bass we thought it was going to be a slow day. Then my brother pulls in a 10 inch bluegill. We kept working our way around with the excitment being rejuvenated andended up catching a 3 1/2 lb. 4 lb. and 5 lb. bass, and a 10 inch crappie. After leaving all we could talk about was that we couldn't belive we just couaght those fish at the golf course. Funny thing! We lived across the street from that pond for 10 years and never once thought about dropping a line in. So next time your looking for that next fishing hole, don't look so far. Cause it's right under your nose.

I fish at a local golf course every wednesday morning from 7 am till 10 am.The golf course don't open till 10am so they let me fish b4 they open.I'm here to tell ya if you get a chance to fish one don't pass it up.Every time I go there I catch bass fom the 3 lb range up to 6 lbs.I don't keep any always release for another day.Gives ya a good feeling when you get skunked at a bigger body of water and catch fish like that in a smaller pond
