I been fishing for years and always herd this story-Fish like bass, pike, musky, walley etc... will try to eat your bobber. I never seen this done and never had it happen to me untill I started to fish the ochlocknee river in florida. Fishing on top of the sand bars including inbetween them and bang there goes my bobber. Hmmmm bobber frenzy it seems. You can even real em in untill just before the boat or the bank then they let go. I came up to the conclution that its the red on the bobber. I told my wife this and she sugjested to put a hook on the bottom of the bobber. Well I been making my own lures for years from bits and pices from lures so I thought I can do this. I put a snap swivel just below the bobber (that also acts as a boober stop) regular loop knot. works good I might add. Then I thought that the line might beak, so I rigged same thing on a 2ft leader. now it wont break. You can ever put bait on it too if you like. Just a note for all them bobber frenzy fish out there.

I've recently went fishing and i had two snapping turtles hitting my bobber back and forth like a soccer ball. I never seen or heard of it until then. Also, i was fishing yesterday in a private pond and a catfish yanked my bobber so hard that the pressure of the water busted the spring and plastics right out of the middle of it. That shocked me. In the end, we had a wonderful fishing trip with plenty of catfish we brought home.

I was fishing in the Pigeon River (northern Indiana) and all of a sudden I noticed my bobber had gone under. I attempted to set the hook with no luck. I'm assuming it was a pike that took the bobber and everything below it; never to be seen again. Quite a surprise for me! I did notice on a lake a week ago that gar will also attack bobbers. Both these bobbers were orange.
