I was trying some new home-made bait yesterday. I made it by melting some cheese and mixing in some pork blood. It kept falling off the hook so I mixed in a little power bait to firm it up a bit. It stayed on the hook and almost immediately I started getting nibbles. Whatever was out there, it was definitely interested. It was frustrating because it wouldn't bite, just nibble. It took my bait several times. It came time to leave and I started to reel in when I snagged on something. I pulled on the line and it gave a bit. I kept piulling and reeling in until I saw I was dragging something in. At first I thought I had caught a branch or something I got it all the way on shore and it was a turtle. It was slightly larger than my hand. It was trying so hard to get loose I felt sorry for it. I cut the line and wached it swim away.

I just love catching turtles.    My largest was around 3 foot diameter, talk about mad and ugly!!  I try to get the hook out, most times with no luck.

I am a fisherman of Iaeger WV also newest life member to north american fishing club. I had a good experience fishing this week. I walked a half a mile to my fishing spot which is above the railroad yard.I carried my tackle gear and my fishig chair with me along with my bait.I had fishing worms and mill worms with me that day.I had made it at 2:00 pm to my destination by the railroadtracks drain above the railroad yard down over the hill into the tug river. I fished for the 1st hour only with nibbles, but then I started to getting bites after I read bass strategies I realized where all the bass were hiding along with the red eye. they were hiding next to the weeds in the shallow water instead of the deep part of the water where the 5 gar that swamed by earlier at 3:40 pm. Mill worms did no good but the worms was doing fair. I caught 15 red eye 27 bass and 1 sun perch. I came up with an idea to experiment with a catepillar which is pink and black looking,I couldn't believe it I caught a 5 pound channel catfish but as soon as i cast my line out instantly i caught a 4 pound bass which was a good game fish to me. that was the best fun I had in a long time. ps I am going to try all types bait especially bacon with fish phermones.
