i was out fishin my fav lake last weekend for crapie and bluegill and just basicially tryin to see what the activity was like. i was shoreline fishin when i was fishin a mini under a bobber. i was reelin in when i had a hit. it hit so hard that it took about 10 feet out of the drag. i got the drag tighted a lil bit so it was not runnin as hard. i got the fish about 10 -15 ft from shore when it decided to jump it was a smallie about 20+ inches. large for what ive caught in the lake. but as it jumped it managed to spit the hook out. i was so frustrated. i need some extra tips on how to keep them smallies on the line. some one help.

My son and I went on a camping trip to Fletcher's Pond in early June. Before heading out we checked the Sportsman Guide for other lakes in the area we might want to fish. We found a lake located just outside of Hillman that was stocked with Splake. We decided to take a day and go over to the lake. When we got on the lake we notice how clear the water was. We also saw many smallmouths. Well, we ended up catching more smallies than splake. What a pleasant surprise that was!'
