My name is Jason and I am a new bee to the club and the pledge. But I took it when I joined the NAFC a month ago. I've got 2 new fishers hooked with one more on the line and I'm reeling him too. My wife and 2 step sons had never really been fish'n before. When we decided to move to (back) Oregon I told them I had lived here when I was younger and liked fish'n. They were like, "ya o.k., what ever." Well, we (or "I", I should say) was back to fish'n the first or second week we were here. They came along but didn't really fish at first because it was to cold (winter time); and I didn't catch any fish ( but for me, fish'n also about being out doors in Gods country even if I don't catch any thing). So naturally they said what so fun about this, WHERES THE FISH??? That didn't stop me from going though. I kept on going here and there, tring this and that. Rain or shine, the weekends came and we went. Then finally one day, ya baby, I caught a fish then another. Finally they gave in and tried it. The boys are still learn the ropes and the tricks to the trade, but my wife caught on fast (she can cast a line as well as the best of them), then it happened; she hooked her first one, a rainbow trout, nothing big but a keeper. then she hooked into another and one more. Now that's all she talks about. She is definatly hooked on fish'n and is just as anixous for the weekends as I am. There is no feeling that can compare to knowing and seeing your loved ones taking part in and enjoying something that is so fun and exciting to me. Now I need to talk them into camping and it will all be a perfect weekend of camping and fish'n. So I hope others will take the Pledge and will be as blessed by our Lord Jesus as I have been with my family. It's a good feeling when you teach some one to fish. It's fun too. So go hook a new bee and may God bless you all.

It is good to have people appreciate the outdoors, and you have to get out doors to do it.  Tight lines.

I am disabled and love to fish.

I do catch and release. I never bring anything home unless it is hurt too badly to release. Then I usually give it to another angler.

Fishing is one sport I can still do with my many illnesses.

Hi all ..I just Bought a Fly rod and fly reel off a 92 year old Master Angler in my Town up here in Alberta Canada .. it is a Hardys Neo Cane.. while the rod itself is not that expensive . The story that came with the rod is Priceless.. he was in a Local lake in Jasper National Park in the mid 1960's with a fishing buddy ..they had been fishing for a couple of hours in a aluminum 12' when a Man and Lady came to the lake with a canoe and came out fishing.. the 2 fished for about ahour when the wind came up and the canoe tipped over ..the man and lady were chucked into the cold mountain lake ..and were calling for help as the man yelled to his wife to hang onto the canoe .. by the time the Master angler and his friend got over there the man was having trouble hanging on and they had to work abit to get him into the boat..the couple were shaking but were ok and very gratefull for the rescue.. when they got him and his wife to shore ..then they got some coveralls they had and gave it to the couple .... and told the to drop them off in Hinton when they went to Edmonton to fly back to the USA.. the couple did drop the coveralls off and thanked the two anglers... 3months later a package was delivered to the door and the Hardy Neo cane rod and a fly reel ..with a Thank-you note from the Man and his Wife... the Master Angler is in his last of his life battling Cancer.. but he is and has been a one of those special anglers that every Town and City across North America has..sincerely David Robson IGFA & NFWFH of Fame WR holder
