It was a cool, crisp morning with a small amount of fog skimming the surface of the water. I woke up at 7 and decided to let my buddy sleep in. I got all our fishing gear ready and put it in the boat. I hooked our little 3 horsepower motor and our trolling motor up to our little boat. Than my buddy woke up (and by the way his name is steven) and he got in the boat but than we rememberd that his little bro wanted to go with us so we woke him and he hopped into the boat eagerly. We first went to a channel we knew had big fish. Steven landed a largemouth bass on his first cast that was just a bit too small. We kept fishing and we came to a weedy spot between two docks and i casted my purple worm with a bright red tail that has a slight glow underwater in the middle of the weed patch and was reeling in when i had a strike and suddenly my drag started screaming and i fought a fish that i thought was a giant bass but when i got the fish into the boat i was surprised to see i had a 20 inch northern pike hooked. It was my first keeper pike and i was extremely happy. We kept fishing and i hooked a small largemouth bass but than stevens little bro hooked a 15 inch largemouth bass and i could see he was ready for any challange a fish gave him. We left that channel and found another and didn't catch any big fish but we caught some small ones. Than out of no where stevens little bro, Darren, catches another bass but this time its a 14 inch largemouth bass. He was having so much fun. It started getting really hot so we went back to the lake house and swam. That was one of the best fishing trips i have ever been on and i will never forget it.

That sounds similiar to a story of mine with my best friend also named stephen we went to this pond called blacks pond in sedgwick, maine I arrived at his house at about 5am or so and we were on our way and let me tell you it was pissing rain that day so we stoped by a local convinience store to buy a poncho or two we had a v-hull 12 foot alluminum boat with a 3 hourse motor i got it landed in the water and mind you the pond isnt very big maybe 2-4 acres anyway we were on our way out having terrible trouble with the motor so just decided to paddle our way there once we got to the first spot we wanted to fish me and stephen through out or line in this lilly pad field so to speek some downed trees in the water so you've gotta watch your lines depth anyway about the second cast "WHAM" "WHAM" both me and stephen hook a largemouth bass almost back to back a good healthy 16-17 inch largemouth and thats pretty much how that whole damp day went probabbly the best fishing I have had in a long time it was a blast and the rain was just an added bonus haha
