One day my dad and I went out for a father-son fishing trip, you know, we head out and it starts. Well, we went down to Angler's Lake and it was about 5:30 in the morning and as we got the gear we saw a big bass jump head-long out of the crystal, clear water. We walked down to the lake started casting off the shore. So we thought that it was a baby bass and we started fishing forgetting that it had happend but just then the same bass jumped out of the water. Then, it disappeared under the ripples of the lake and for a long time we thought he had gone to the opposite shore. My dad felt a tug at his line, we got all excited. After small struggle, he reeled in a nice size trout. We were satisified but I still wanted my "piece of the pie." We still had the whole day left and it was already getting hot, we had given up. About an hour later, we saw him and the race was on to get this bass. We reached for our finest lures, hooked 'em up and cast them out across the water. We had no luck for another hour. So we decided to just pack up and leave but I knew he was out there and persisted that we stay. That might have been one of the best decisions of my life, because not five minutes later I felt a mighty tug at my line . I knew it had to be him so I set the drag and the fight began. It got rough, at one point the pole was almost ripped from of my hands. So thinking quickly, I clenched the rod. It was awesome, the bass totally cleared the water about three times. I knew I finally had him when the tension began to dwindle. You know the rest. I brought him up out of the water. WHOA!!!! This guy was huge. I was so glad i had used my best lure, a small blue-tailed floater. At first we thought it was a big trout but we were wrong. So after we had gotten a good look at him, we released him and feeling proud we walked away. As I looked back, I could bet anything that I saw him jump through the glass, wild and free, the BIG Bass.
