I live in Mid West part of Minnesota, on the wonderful lake Ida. I usually cant wait for first ice to fish my lake, because the fact is the Walleyes in here seem to be more aggressive all threw the winter season, fish size usually not under 18 in. up to 30 in.  I surly know there are alot of monsters in this lake, but summer time comes and they are now where to be found, and typical fishing techniques do not apply and very rarely  do you even get sonar pings on these fish. Im truly missing out of the joys of summer fishing and  knowing that my lake does produce large fish,  I just cant figure it out. I've tried vertical jig and lindys spinners in all depths, but to no avail, not even a nibble.  One frustrated fisherman with plenty experience. Any and all comments are greatly welcome. Or hey just come try this lake in the winter and you will probably come back for more.

P.S. I even caught a  3 eyed walleye and have the pictures to prove it.  Now thats a true story not a fishing tail, npi.

Welcome CP to the Club and the forums! We go through that area quite often when we go to Pequot Lakes (wifes cousin) and then we head North to the Crookston area. My wife is from MN and all her relatives are back there. We are living in Colorado! She won't let me move back there Oh well--guess I'll have to suffer with Colorado fishing. Take care and good fishing. Bill J./fishnhunt
