I have been a member since May of 2009 and already have been victim to some of the worst customer service ever. I have not yet received my gifts promised for joining the club, and have yet to receive my validation stickers aswell. There have been mistakes to my account over and over, and the customer service line is always busy. When I did get through all I got was a "we are working on it." I have received countless offers by mail to become a LIFE MEMBER, and invoices saying I have to pay my membership dues which I did and still no stickers no gifts, the only thing I do receive is offers. Seems like they have time to send me offers, but not what was promised. There are mistakes after mistakes on my account and I am trully sick of it. Ridiculous astrocious customer service, with a greedy mindset of offers and don't deliver what they promise. I have yet to receive an offer to field test any product and doubt it I ever will. I have not even received the gifts I paid for, how could I ever expect such company to deliver on their word that I COULD be asked to field test a product. REALLY REALLY bad club with absolutely the Worst customer service ever....

I have been a lifer since 2005 and have only field tested some hooks and a knife. I was told to fill out the survey form to be considered for field testing . I thought becoming a life member kind of negated the need to keep filling out forms.I have kept every mag they have ever sent me and have yet to make it into the life member listing and have sent in several pictures for consideration for the mag. Only one has made it in five years. We club members asked for an on line store and what they have put on this forum is a poor excuse. I think this club seriously misrepresents itself,in order to draw in prospective members and once they get your money, they are done with you. When I joined Life membership the best they had to offer, but now to get more of my money they want me to pay for an upgraded life charter or some crazy title. I don't think so, they have gotten all the money they ever will from me . If I had it to do over, I would not have paid for life membership.

For me, the billing is slow and I don't get much feedback, but I am already a lifetime member on a payment plan. I can tell that it takes a while to get answers.  I hope that it gets better soon, but I'm not the fastest person these days either!!  Chris M.

I've been a life member since 04 and have NOT had a problem. I got my rod & reel with my name on it and use it often, I've seen where some members have had bad luck with thier's and others, no problem.

I've also never seen my name in the mag. and like I said, member since 04. But it dose not upset me either. Stop beining a baby about something so little and of such petty stuff.

Field test what you get and HOPE to be one of the LUCKY ones that get to test the BIG things. If not I'll gladdly keep testing what they DO send me and KEEP it.

Now go out there and do some FISHING. Have a great day.

I have been a lifer since 99 and have not experienced any problems. more than got my moneys worth with just the mags. I recently started vistiting the forum and this has added awhole new dimension to my membership. To all those who have had problems I am sorry to hear that and I hope it does not change your mind about the club. In a way I wish the gift that the lifetimemembers get now was available back in 99. I received a diawa rod and reel combo pack rod. It is pretty nice and I still use it all the time but I think I would have liked the personalized rod and reel. Best thing I can suggest is to keep in contact with the club and persist in letting them know when you have a problem.

I have been a life member since 95 and have had any problems I got my bass ring right away and everything else the promised. The only thing that bothers me, is they send you things like calanders and books that you don't ask for and expect you to pay for them and if you don't they want you to send it back on your dime. So if you get things you don't want just eamil them and tell em if they want it back then send a return postage sticker. It works I did it last year for the 2010 calander.
I have gotten products to field test mostly junk though. I also have never been on the honor roll. I guess they need the money to send Pennaz on his fishing trips. Come to think of it he seems to be the only one who benifits from our money.

They started sending me books shortly after I became a lifer, I called and asked them not to send me anything and they haven't except an occosional pack of product cards or an upgrade to be a trophy member. I'm still involved in the product test program. It is what it is, if you don't want unwelcomed things sent to ya, call them. This is where a store would come in handy because maybe I would want something they are sending out but don't want to have the bother of returning things I don't want.

If you look at the posts by disgruntled members you will see that a large portion of them are unhappy that they have been a member for 6 months and haven't recieved $$$ worth of merchandise to field test. There are over 160,000 members and maybe 10 a month get something to field test. If that is why you joined, you will be disappointed. The real value to club membership is the advice available here in the forums. Stick with it and you will find yourself with a whole bunch of new fishin' buddies all over the country and beyond. Tom

    yer right tom.........

i might get a bit disappointed on not getting much or the lack of the good stuff to test. it doesn't change my feelings about the people i have met from here. i have met and shared a boat with a few people from here and i have not yet had a bad experience.

dont call someone a baby for complaining about something he SHOULD BE complaining about. IMO if the service is anything like he described, i will end my service right then and there and move on.

Honestly, if you are a member period you should be treated with the upmost kindness, what ever happened to the saying the customer is always right. that saying and motto helps businesses create better products, and service. just listen to the complaints and do the best to fix them please NAFC.

I know you are not supposed to complain about gifts, but when you are lured in by the promise of a gift, then you need to honor that promise.

Not saying it even happened, being i dont know the member complaining or anything, just saying if he truely did not receive anything, you need to make it up to him.

I've been following "alanders" for a few weeks through forums.  For some reason he caught my attention.  Seems like a young angler who has won the battle with a lot of problems and has really fallen in love with fishing and those who fish.  When you don't listen to your customers, they usually are not nearly as right as they are gone!  I am fairly new to the club but I've been fishing for over 50 years and don't plan to give it up, nor this club.  I would just love to see more "alanders" in the club.  They can help us grow--sure there are 160,000 but there could be double or triple that number.  Share what you know with those coming along--what better heritage could we give them I thank God for all of you and those yet to be.  Uncle Tom  Remember those fish you caught with cord wrapped around a tin can with hook and worm on the other end or how about those caught on red ribbon who we snatched out on the creek bank when they bit, no hook attached.
I built my own lure company as a young man--thus the name UncleTomsJigs. It grew so well I decided to give it up and go fishing with family, friends and especially grand children. I became disabled as a United Methodist Pastor IN 2002 and retired here in Coastal Georgia on a 10 acre lake where I continue to fish despite my disabilities. My wonderful wife and I enjoy fishing together. God has blessed us in so many ways and we pray the same for you. I am excited about having so many new friends all over this great country.

WELL I AM PRETTY SURE WE ALL AGREE WITH "ALANDERS" OPION. NOW WHY HE HAS A SPECIAL FEEL I DO NOT UNDERSTAND. I HAVE BEEN PATIENTLY WAITING FOR MY GIFTS AS PROMISED BUT I AM AFRAID BECAUSE I PAID FOR MY MEMBERSHIPS DUES ONLINE THAT I WILL SUFFER THE WHOLE PROCESS OF NOT MAILING IN MY DUES.I HAVE CONTACTED THE CLUB BY EMAIL AND THE REPLY I RECIEVED WAS SORRY FOR THE INCOVIENENCE AND THAT THEY WOULD BE RE SHIPPED. SO AS WITH ALL THINGS IN LIFE YOU JUST HAVE TO SIT BACK AND WAIT. OR CANCEL YOUR MEMBERSHIP,WHICH ONCE YOU DO IT WILL PROBABLY COME IN THE MAIL SHORTLY AFTER LOL.

I gather the club puts a lot more effort into the sales and selling of it and once that's done, the club really don't have the support for those who have become members.

BACK IN MARCH, I RECEIVED A CLUB PROMOTION TO RENEW MY MEMBERSHIP FOR 3 YEARS AND I WAS TO RECEIVE A FILET KNIFE IN 2 TO 6 WEEKS, I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE KNIFE, I CALLED 3 TIMES SO FAR AND ALL I HEAR IS "IT WAS SENT OUT", AND YOU SHOULD BE RECEIVING IT IN 4 TO 6 WEEKS. THEY SURE AS HELL TAKE YOUR MONEY FAST ENOUGH, IF I DO NOT GET MY KNIFE SOON I WILL BE CANCELING MY MEMBERSHIP, THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED AND I AM GETTING REALLY SICK OF THE CRAP I HAVE TO PUT UP WITH. I HAVE BEEN A MEMBER FOR 5 YEARS, I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED A TEST PRODUCT, EVEN THOUGH I HAVE FILLED OUT THE REQUEST SEVERAL TIMES, (TWICE A YEAR). HEY STEVE PENNAZ I HAVE A FEW SUGGESTIONS ON WHAT YOU CAN DO WITH YOUR STUPID CLUB.
    Take a kid fishing.
