I am a life member and on tell I die I am eligible to participate in contests ,and in field testing and some discounts available to members.
so if i use them regularly and add them all up over a life time . Perhaps then i may be the one ripping the club off.

TAKE A MOMENT TO THINK ABOUT THAT.

It may only take winning one contest or field testing one item to more then pay for the price of becoming a member.

A tip from other members FOLLOW UP ON LEADS .
always send a thank you to the manufacture of an item you get to field test, you never know where it may lead. {more offers, manufacture coupons }

I Don't know if it's the worst club ever (maybe because its the only one I've joined) but I don't feel so bad now, I joined this year and signed on as a life member in May I have not received the fishing pole yet, so I'm not the only one. I always get the auto service and it really doesn't give you a number for complaints, if they read the forums I think they should have a number dedicated to problems, and when it comes back that the box is full at least we would know weather they cared or not.

Been a life time member since may,2009.Account has been paid in full. But 3 times i have had to e-mail them because they closed my account. I have received the cheap hooks to test,and did not like them.My rod and reel with name is fine no problems with it.Also have not gotten any magazines in 6 to 8 months. Some good things some not so good.I guess all you can say It is what it is.

Hi bsullivan. If you have not gotten your mag for 6 to 8 months you should probably get a hold of member services. Better yet Look at rod tossers advice above. This may be a better way to get it straightened out. alos make sure your field test profile is up to date and re summitted after any field test that you do. This is not automatically done.

Good luck

Hey k;

There are a lot of good things about this club. It is not ALL doom and gloom.          Since you have been a member since three days ago, you should visit some of the other threads. There is a lot of useful info on them, and loads of great fisherpeople.

Hope you will like the rest of the club. Just don't be too disgruntled by a couple of threads here.

Tight lines,

Salty Dan

Good advice salty Dan. Its too bad that some new folks may get a bad idea of what the club is about from a couple of negative posts.

Unfortunately, we have all become used to having things happen in an instant. I have been a life member since may of 2009 and have loved all the stuff I have received. If you don't pay off the membership feee right away and just make payments you do not receive the reel until half of the fees are paid and then when you pay the final amount of the fees off you will receive the fishing pole. I hope everyone has a great 2011!

Clubs are what we make them!  I have always made it a habit to pay my bills on time.  I can understand how aggravating it is to get something in the mail you have not requested and I can live with sending it back with my dime.  What really aggravates me is when you check your account and you have unpaid history of publications and things that you have not even received yet!  Without a doubt  the club needs some help in accounting!  Why don't some of you members who have accounting backgrounds drop a hook in that pool and see what you catch?  Uncle Tom (Trophy Life Member) HELP!  HELP!  Check the bilge pump we may be sinking in our own water.
I built my own lure company as a young man--thus the name UncleTomsJigs. It grew so well I decided to give it up and go fishing with family, friends and especially grand children. I became disabled as a United Methodist Pastor IN 2002 and retired here in Coastal Georgia on a 10 acre lake where I continue to fish despite my disabilities. My wonderful wife and I enjoy fishing together. God has blessed us in so many ways and we pray the same for you. I am excited about having so many new friends all over this great country.

Since I made the post on Nov. 5 I have to day received all the things that were to come with the life member ship. I would wish I had more patience,and now I know there are other people out there like me, but unlike me give it some time I'm sure it will work for you too. I'm sorry if I gave a bad impression to any other new person, but the other people are right the wait plus all the other stuff you get is well worth it.

I have just joined for 3 years. I hope the stories of bad issues are few however already my account says 2 years paid for $24 not $36 which I sent and was cashed. An email to club has been sent. I was hoping for the ability for fishing interaction and knowledge of others through the forums and I understand and do not want "something for nothing" but also demand what was promised and paid for. North American Fishing Club I hope this is a minor issue and get resolved quickly and I will let all know it has been taken care of, or not.

Hello Mlakel;

The NAFC is a good club. Period. The forums are great, and the camaraderie is excellent. The club is like any other club,
as in you get what you put into it. If a person doesn't extend any effort to become part of the group, or is only expecting
to product test outboard motors, bass boats, etc, then that person will be disappointed. That is not what this club is about.

This club is about people of different backgrounds and modes of life sharing one common interest...fishing. We get together
and talk about how to better our fishing experiences, what types of equipment and what baits or lures we use, and mostly
start to congeal as an extended family.

However, just like in real families, there will be differences of opinion, and some heated debates may, and do occur. But,
that happens whenever a few people get together over any subject. Just like in any group, there are naysayers, and
do-gooders. It is up to each member to decide what works for them, and to delete the rest, and get on with being an active
member...with ACTIVE the key word.

So with that in mind, join in the conversations on the forums and in the chat room. Become an active member. Start threads
on the subjects that interest you. I find that I have mostly a positive relationship with the club, as do most members here.

As for the amount of money you sent and what is stated on your account page, you did correct in emailing the club. If you
don't get an answer, email them again, or call them. I believe there is an 800 number available.

Good luck, and welcome to the club. May you enjoy a long and happy relationship with it,

Salty Dan

A lot of people are saying that the club is getting worse more just about the website but I enjoy all of the changes that have been made. Every time I have called and talked to people they were very helpful and I think the club is a great way to learn from others and share stories. I am glad I joined and hopefully I can save up enough money to become a life member. I gotta get a job this summer after school.

Thanks for the kind words, Salty Dan! We do work very hard here to make every club member's experience a positive and fulfilling one, but we do err from time to time. But I can assure you that I will be aware of any issue brought up here and will pass it on to member services, or whichever dept. can provide the best and quickest solution. I was a club member for three years before I was hired here in early February, so I know where you are all coming from! ... mlakel: I have sent a summary of your issue to my main man in member services. He's very good at getting back to me quickly on these things and solving member concerns as soon has possible. -- Regards, Web Guy Greg
