Hi I am life member David H. Fritz. And I have maid Custom maid fishing rods for 49 years ,I had bait & tackle shop 25 years ago of my own. I have been life member of the NAFC since 2003 and have never seen any thing about custom built fishing rods. And I thought I would see if there are any other custom rod builders in the NAFC. I go to a sporting goods shop and see a fishing rod I would like, I go home and I will build it. And it turns out to be a better fishing rod then you can buy. I know that most rod manufacturers of fishing rods do not find the back bone of the rod blank . Now if you have ever built a fishing rod this will make all the difference in how the rod will perform when it is used. There are two reasons for finding the back bone of the rod blank. And 99.9% of the fishermen want it (hook setting power). And there are a few who want it the other way and it is for (casting power). And those are the two reasons for locating the back bone of your rod blank.

Hi I am a member of fishing club. I allso belong to the Land Of Legan Fly fishing club. We teach members to build their owen fishing rods. I have help in this for the last ten years. I like the use of a hand built rod so I build maney tipes of rods.

i also have been a life member since 2003. i use to custom build rods but haven't done so in about 4-5 years. thinking about maybe getting back into it as something to do to pass the time. might be kinda hard though as i have other hobbies outside of fishing as well.
