My name is Tyler and I fish on a big, and busy lake and I was wondering where to look for the big bass in the middle of the summer heat, and what bait/presentation to use.

    hey tyler

i fish a very busy lake also and what works well for me during the summer is to find some where that is to shallow for all of the pleasure boats to tear up. I really like, and have good luck fishing shallow grass beds slow rolling spinner baits and soft plastics. These grass beds produce good stringers of fish early in the morning and depending on wind, i do well in the heat of the day also. The bass will bury up in the grass matts and just sit waiting on that perfect cast. Just because it is hot doesn't mean fish don't eat. If shallow grass beds are not doing it for you, try fishing the mud line of a point with crank baits or jigs.

    Hey Tyler.

When fishing in the summer, it pays off big time to find the cooler spots in the lake. The temp. sensor on your depth finder should do that for you. I fish on lake Sam Rayburn and during the summer i like to use spinnerbaits and soft plastics.

Another good technique for summer fishin is flippin and pitchin surface slop. A lot of times the fish will get up under the slop to escape the heat and hide in the shade. They will also hide under lilly pads and any other thing that will provide shade. Hope I helped you out a little, good luck!
