I've fished Pelican Lake (Orr, MN) for years . . . always catch fish, but never seem to find much in the way of size (like 30-inch+ pike, 25-inch+ walleyes, etc.).  The trips are always fun, but my fishin' buddy has been seduced by the LOTW-types promising monster pike, big smallies, etc. and wants to move up to 'the big time'.  Lots of these places look great, but I use a CPAP pump to sleep and need 24-hr electricity . . . most of these places don't seem to have that.

Are there spots in northern MN where bigger fish are more plentiful?  Maybe I need to re-think my approach to Pelican?  Any Canadian spots with 24-hr electricity?  BTW, I don't need contacts from resorts/lodges, etc. . . . I've got hundreds already! . . . just some info from folks who have actually fished up there.

How's it going, Gardo?  I believe there should be a lake by you, near Orr, that has big fish in it.  Don't forget, Gardo, Pelican Lake is a very popular... therefore highly pressured... lake.  A LOT of people fish there.  And in ANY body of water, there's only so many of the bigger fish to go around.  But I'll bet there's a lake (or two) by you, there, that isn't so popular & will have the big fish in it you seek.  Go off the beaten path & see what happens.  Sometimes exploration is what's most fun on a fishing trip.  If it has to be northern Minnesota, though, I'm sure Lake-of-the-Woods has 24 hour power, & I know Cass Lake in the Bemidji area does.
