I just moved from the DC area to Golden, CO and was looking for some good, close spots to go either fly fishing or bass/walleye/pan fishing (from shore, no boat).

Just started fly fishing so am new to all of this so if anyone was interested in getting together to do some fishing, that'd be great too!

    Thanks in advance.

Try the Prospect Park area which is near 44th Ave and Youngfield.  There are 4 lakes (ponds) in that area.  I take my son to West Lake, which is directly behind the Camping World RV store.  There is a parking lot just North of the RV store, off of Youngfield.  I'm still learning the lake, but have caught bass, yellow perch and black crappies.  None of any real size, but I have seen some nice ones cruising close to shore this spring.  The area gets moderate pressure, but it's close to home and a nice place to spend a spring evening/morning.  Best of luck.
