A friend and I went fishing about 2 weeks ago, and we were using minnows on

a crappie rigs... for about half an hour, we had no bites... then he told me to clip

the head off of the minnow... saying the blood would attract them... IT WORKED.

after that we were landing crappie 2 at a time for the next hour... ended up with

27 crappie... all 2-3 lbs... nice ones...

also... the next time we went fishing  we began clipping the tails off the minnows

instead of the head, and almost doubled our catches. it causes the minnows to

bleed and also makes them act as a natural wounded baitfish...

happy fishing... any other fishing tips yall have, leave em... share the knowledge

To most... A fish is a dish, To me... A large Mouth Bass is worth a divorce.

Good tip. Going to try it the next time I go hunting for the crappies. I have had a lot of luck with Gulp earthworms (brown). Rig it like you would a normal nightcrawler. Use a light split shot weight about 12 inches above the hook. This way you have weight to cast, but the worm does not fall too fast to the bottom. Looks natural going down and the fish love it. Happy fishin ! Brian

Thanks for the tips, looks like I'll be trying some new stuff in the coming weeks.
