If there was no paperwork with the package, it is probably a gift. Were these Wing-It bobbers? if so, I got the same package and it was a promo gift, not a field test. I have never recieved a field test item, so I am not familliar with the paperwork, but I would think that a field test item would come with an evaluation form or some sort of instructions on how to file your report. That's strange there moose, about a month or so ago I recieved a fillet knife in the same manner.it just arrived one day ,no invoice,no explanation at all.So I've tucked it away, not even opened it yet,and am waiting for something as to why I recieved it.I,also, keep checking the past winners list of the giveaways to see if that may be the case.

Stgfish: Did you recieve 1 fillet knife or a set of 3 knives with a scissors and a cutting board in a case? I got the latter and it was a promo item, not a field test. Good thing, the knives were so dull they could barely slice cold butter! About an hour's worth of work with a stone and steel got them to a usable point, but I am afraid that they won't hold and edge once I start using them. They were free, and I guess I got what I paid for! Tom

I recevied a filet knife about a year ago (or longer; not quite sure) to test. Luckily it was sharp ( VERY SHARP), because if it wasn't that wouldn't have been a good product for me to test.

Tom, thats pretty lucky to get a free set of knives. Even though they weren't sharp its still free.

Oh, I guess I should've mentioned. I've tested two products so far and with it you will receive a yellow (at least thats what color it was when I tested both my products) piece of paper. You fill in the bubbles, and answer a couple of questions along the lines of "did you like this product" and " is there any way to improve this product."

I finally got a feild test item after about 16 months of Life membership. There was no club paperwork with it. The evaluation form was part of a notification email I recieved about 3 weeks prior to the merchandise arriving. Despite my best efforts, that email got lost in the ether and it took 2 tries to get Member services to send me a duplicate! I believe the knife set I got from the club was a premium for taking an initial 3 year membership. These premiums change like the weather in Chicago, so don't count on it. I didn't join this club for the freebies, I initially joined for the magazine and the members in these forums convinced me by their activity to become a life member. Tom

The bobbers and fishing line I received were a gift along with a copy of the first book in the anglers libary. The second book I received with the test product which was the fillet knife.

If a book was part of the package, I doubt it is a field test. I have never heard of two unrelated products being part of a field test, and field test items are usually identified as such and preceded by an email. Tom
