I was walking down the river by my house and I noticed a squirrel balancing on a small branch that had fallen in the water in an eddy. There was a nut in a fork in the branch that looked as though it had drifted there and gotten caught. As the squirrel got close to the nut it was only an inch or so from the water's surface. Well, a big ole lunker largemouth bass leapt out of the water and swallowed that squirrel! I couldn't believe it! I was totally amazed! I sat down on a rock to contemplate what had just happened, and darned if I didn't see that bass come up and put another nut in that fork of the branch!
