My dad and I mainly fish soft plastics. I read in a magazine that for soft plastics we should be using fluorocarbon. We have only used monofilament under 12 pound test. This seems to often abrade after being rubbed against cover like logs, stumps and even lily pad stalks. So out line often breaks when we hook a large bass. Also, pickerel very often break the line with their teeth. Should we use fluorocarbon? and what brands/types would you recommend?
