Today we fished DOD ponds for some relaxation for a change. Just for fun. What a treat really not to have to worry about what you caught and take your time.
The water was clear as it always is there and around 62 degrees. The only muddy water was in one back arm by the Delaware river.
We worked Senkos, crankbaits, and spinnerbaits, along with a buzzbait made by Yamamoto.
We worked the shallow grass flats and wood cover in areas near the deeper channels, and managed 6 bass total, and 2 chain pickerel.
Nothing big, all around a pound to three pounds, and the pickerel were the same size.
The fun was watching them hit the buzzbait and spinnerbait.
There were still a few straglers on beds but lots of fry were in the water as well.
In just a week or so the action will really pick up in all the rivers and lakes in the area, and numerous big bass will be caught on Snag Proof Tournament Frogs, Sumo Frogs, and Lucky Craft and Yamamoto buzzbaits, as well as Sammy's and poppers.
Our favorite type of action. Topwater!! Can you beat it??
Tight lines, Steve, Chuck, and Kurt.
