Yup I agree. No matter what you have if it doesn't catch fish then it's no good.

i agree but its not always what the lure looks like to you. the fish might see it in a totaly different way.

If it's a Crank Bait It's gotta run true,if it doesn't it will not look natural.I've seen some cheapo lures a friend of mine bought that laid over on there side as you retrieved them.If it doesn't swim upright there no good. They didn't even look like a wounded fish!

I now like the silent lures they snaek up on bass and cause a reaction strike but if its a quiet place i like the loud lures

In all lures that I look for, something that will track true in various retrieve speeds, something that will lend itself to good casting distance, something that has good paint job and finish quality. Yet these things are not absolute rules for me, since it's really the fish that decides what it wants.

I feel that any lure made by a well known and reliable brand can be a good lure if it is applied well in a situation that is good for that particular bait.
I swear, it was this big (---------------------------------------)

The most important quality of a lure is that it has YOUR confidence! Just ask Bill Dance if you don't believe me.
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, if it wasn't for my super smooth carbon drag, my 30 year old Trilene would bust!
