At any speed, my Lowrance X-91 loses the bottom and flashes for a long time -- up to a minute or more -- before it finally locates the bottom again. This happens deep to shallow, shallow to deep, trolling or cruising, and sometimes for no particular reason at all. Since I fish in rivers and reservoirs with changing depths, I wonder if anyone knows the cure. (A former Lowrance dealer suggested junking the unit! Ouch -- kind of a pricey and ineffective boat anchor.)
