I just bought a 12 foot sea king V Hull fishing boat with a 9.6 horse power motor and a 23 lb thrust trolling motor for $400. Was this a good deal? I thought it was an awsome deal, but I am new at the whole boat buying thing. This is my first boat.

If the motor is not ancient and is in good condition then you probably paid what the motor was worth and got the boat for free.

It's great small lake or river boat. You will run out of room real quick to put things. Thy and keep you tackle to a minumum.

Hey nike103. If it runs and it floats, it was well worth it as far as a first boat goes. You'll start wanting to upgrade real fast now that the "boat bug" has bitten you.

most boat dealers will have motors about 10 hp and used for around $800.00----$1000.00 looking at that you got a great buy.
