Hopefully in Kansas or not to far off I would like to find a small (20hp) electric start motor in good shape.

I have a beautiful little Merc that set on the wall of a garage for many years, it is from what I have been told and what I can find, a mid 90,s model with a long shaft.

I cleaned the dust off of it and put fresh fuel in it and it fired right up last year, it has less then fifty hours on it according to the ole boy that I got it from he had it on the back of a big Lund for trolling but did not fish very much.

Anyway I have a bad back and I am looking for a small motor with electric start, I will trade my motor and a little mula a little green  with it for a good motor that I do not have to pull on !!

Wish you all a good day and may you get to spend it fishing!!

Have you checked with your local boat mechanic about adding a starter ? Some of the pull starts also have the mounting brackets for starter motors.

How do You do Tom? I am in the middle of the state, Wichita and as much as I wish I could tell you yes I would think about selling, if I did that then I would not have anything to push my V bottom.

I will keep you in mind if I find the motor I am looking for and there is no trade for mine involved!!

    Have a good day !

Rusty: I came home from vacation with no fish and under the weather. That should tell you how I am. I understand you're not wanting to sell until you have the replacement lined up. Better to pull start the 9.9 than row! I have a niece in the KC area, one of these days..... Have you checked your local BPS online? My local store has 3 pages of new motor listings, many of them discounted old stock. The deals are good and worth looking in to. If you can't find the listing PM me and I will explain how to find it. Just came back to this, the Olathe BPS has a 20 electric start listed for a bit over $2600. The path from the home page is: Boating-repower (enter your closest store). Oddly, Olathe is where my niece lives! FYI, you are probably looking at a 4 stroke. Tom
