Most of my well producing catfish trips occur at night with cut bait or liver. However, yesterday, in the heat of a mid Atlantic August at a community pond I tied into several 20"-ish channel cat.
The strange thing was, my buddy and I started fishing for bluegill under a bobber. We we only using about 2" of nightcrawler on the hook.
I've never considered trying this as an actual catting method, but it sure worked yesterday.
Do any of you catmen/women use a technigue like that? Thanks.
