I used to have the worst of luck Catfishing in the rain. I could never seem to get the fish to bite. I tried to figure out the fish patterns when it rains and it seems they move to different parts of the river such as under pipes where the rain water drains out and also under the interstate bridges. Is there any tips or patterns you have noticed when it comes to Catfishing in the rain?

well, when there is a ditch coming into the river, there should usually be a clear spot. right on the edge of the clear water and muddy water, there should be some catfish. when the water is muddy, i usually switch to worms basiclly because the worms come out during the rain. they seem to jump all over them. hope this helps you

As mentioned before, target where the water mixes between clear and muddy. Don't be afraid to go shallow in 1 to 2 feet of water. I've caught some big ones with belly full of earthworms just after the rain.

I'll second the advice about targeting inflows during or aftera rain and not just for catfish, all species have learned that this is a gravy train. Tom
