Been a long winter, but this morning I finally was able to fish with the fly rod rather than an ice pole.
A local pond is stocked with trout by the DNR and this morning there one end of the pond was ringed with about 30 yds. of OPEN WATER! I wasted no time in getting out with the fly rod. Sure was fun to have a 9 ft. fly rod bowing from the fight of a fish rather than a 2 ft. ice rod. Only caught 4 , but it sure was enjoyable. And man did my case of cabin fever need this.
