Has anyone tried the Bass Pro Shops classes for for basic fly fishing. It is free, you just have to sign up because the class fills up quick with the limited space . Looking for any info or reviews.

I use bass pro fly shop all the time and like it. If it is free, no reason not to try it and see what happens!
Nothing like catching a fish on a fly I tied!

Hi Striper---Welcome to the forums! Anytime you can get classes or seminars for free---Grab it. Anything you can learn is that much more that you know about Fly fishing. So if it is free; you are out nothing but your time! If you determine that you like fly fishing; then, it is time to either get a beginners guide to FF, take a paid for class or talk to fly fishers or local fly shops. Good luck to you. Fly fishing and fly tying is a great experience..... Take Care and God Bless. Bill J./fishnhunt in Colorado.

Yep, ole Fishnhunt is right!  I have been working on learning at my pace for...lets see now...going on three years now.  I have taken one paid for class (beginners) and will most likely take an intermediate class next year.  But in the mean time I sit down with fellow tiers and learn from them.  I like to do this at member meets also.  My goal is to make poppers & dry flies...and one day I will!

alot of places  give free basic fly casting lessons in hope to get you as a customer .
give it a try  its alot of fun and  you can learn faster  then  on your own .
you may have to pay for the materials for tying   but its a great way to learn  fast .
it will cut your learning curve a lot .  there is nothing like having  some one show you how and  being able to ask them questions .

I have a Bass Pro right down the road from me but have never seen them hold a flyfishing shop. Do they announce them on line?

Don't know about Bass Pro shops in Utah but there is(was) a Cabelas in Lehi and they had a nice fly shop. Don't know about lessons though.

Cabelas also offers free fly tying classes I go to the one in Hammond In on Monday nights they supply you with most of the materials needed, they also give a 10 percent discount on fly tying supplies on class night.
