I'm really confused about the difference between these, when to use them, and how to present them.  I know they all aren't supposed to float but I'm not sure which those are.  Any help would be great and I already read those websites that people already posted.

Dry flies are to be fished on the surface.  Wet flies ussally just below the surface and nymphs down around the bottom.  How you present them depends on the type of water you are fishing.  In  lakes remember bugs swim slow.  Or try a cast and leave tactice, let it drift.  I streams/rivers drift with the curent, no drag.

Sometimes a quick retrieve will spark a hit on a wet fly or nymph, there are also streamers which are fished below the surface of the water or fished deep like a nymph.    This type of retreival seems to work very good for me.

a rely good book to get would be fly fishing for the compleat idiot  by Micheal Rutter

dry flies are heavily hackled  and are used when you can see a hatch  or flies flying around  .they are fished on the surface . fish  eating these probably break the surface  rise is usually  jumping out of the water .
wet flys are sparsely hackled  two wraps  the rise may be notid buy small rings from fish sucking in the fly  or buy  a dorsal fin .

nymphs  are the larve or nymph stage of  insects .   and a good place to start if you don't see active fish .  becuse 80 percent of  the trouts diet is consumed under the surface.
look for part of a tail  as fish eat these off the bottom usually

streamers are minnow  imitations  big fish eat small fish .
