I see you are  playing around with  different Ideas and materials .
fly number 1 is a modified woolly bugger .
not sure if you done this or not  .  but  wrap the hackle  in the opposite direction as you wrap d the body material .

fly number 2 is a marabou winged streamer .  interesting  chose of body materiel
would make a nice nymph pattern with out the wing ,I generally use  tinsel or floss for a body

cray fish  pattern   is that a zonker strip  tied in  for the back  ?

Yeah, I've kind of just been trying a few different things...whatever comes to me at the moment. I used bucktail for the crayfish. Also, what size hooks do you normally use? I fear that the ones I used might be too big...they're #4's. And thanks for blowing up the picture by the way.

depends on what i"m tying or fishing for .  size 18 -  4/0
i fish  for trout and  warm water species  too example  panfish, bass, pike ,  . I tie some patterns that are over 9 inches in length.
this  fly is around  7  inches in length  on a 3/0  saltwater hook .

Trev, I am suprised that you don't have a trailer tied into a fly that large...I would think you would have many short strikes?

Everything I am seeing here looks good!  I have a lot of learning to do yet!

IM not sure how that would effect the fly in general these are 3/0 hooks
and a lot of the musky flies I've seen don't have a trailer hook .
The most important thing  is one can cast it with  a fly rod .
