what are some things that you have lost down the hole. Some of the the more common things ive lost were a few skimmers, lead depth finders, pliers just the basics havent been ice fishing long enough to loose the "good stuff".

I threw a buddy's cell phone down the hole once! He knows I hate phones anyway but he took a cell fishing with us and kept talking until I couldn't take it any longer. He no longer brings a phone on the ice any more.

Wife lost her cell phone from her bibs down the hole as she was going to use the extra hole we had in the shanty for the pee hole. When she stood up we both herad a thunk and then a plop. Not knowing what it was at the time she continued and when she was done and sat back down she realised that her phone went to fish heaven. I handed her mine and told her tgo call her number and see if they'd swim it back up (LOL).

This is kind of the opposite but one time a chain pickerel bit a bluegill i was reeling in and didn't let go until 30 seconds after I pulled it out of the hole (came out and wasn't even hooked)

I was ice fishin the Pathfinder Reservoir, just west of Casper Wyoming, in the Trout and Walleye Hawg Derby, with a friend of mine, Jeff, also a life member.  I lost my prescription glasses down the hole, on Saturday evening and we moved 4 or 5 times through out the night.   The next afternoon my buddy Jeff tells me he has his underwater camera with him, so I take the camera (since the fish weren't biting), and go back to the hole where I lost my glasses and proceed to hunt for them, 27 feet to the bottom, but I found them.  I yelled to Jeff to come help me and between the 2 of us, one at the camera and one with a pole and treble hook, we fished them out of the water.  Jeff caught them and brought them up and as he brought the pole around for me to grab the glasses, the lenses fell out in my hand.  No fish that derby but we still had a $500 win for the weekend.

Hey St.Croix--Welcome to the club and the B/B ! It is a pretty good place to spend a little time and have some fun and talk fishing.I suggest that you scroll to the new members thread and introduce yourself. You will meet a lot of great people and fishermen. Too bad about the Cell phone. I leave mine in the truck! Hope to see you on here often! Take Care, Good Fishin and God Bless.
