I was out for my first trip yesterday and I have a medium otter shanty. I have the add on nylon runners on the base. My question is ...there anything to help lubricate this thing so it is easier to pull when there is a little snow on the lake? I have used silicone nd cooking spray..Pam. I had all i could do to pull this in when I was done because there was only about 2 to 3 inches of ice and when I drilled my holes water came out of them and got bottom of sled wet. I have called otter in the past and they had no solutions to help. These are great when towing with a machine but a bear when pulling by hand. I am considering going with a smaller one-man shanty for first ice when I can't use a machine but not sure if they would be much better.
